I was going to sign up to be a guide. Pay you a few cents for the questions you answer. Then they wanted my SS# and I decided against it.

You HAVE to give them your number? I don't like the sound of that.

Ah, they want to sent advertisp00gets via SMS to cell phones. I wonder how they're going to get enough confirmed cell numbers to make it viable?

I'm not giving my number out to someone on the internet for them to eventually sell. It always happens. ALWAYS.

yeah,

My paranoia is paying off lately.  Its nice to know my gut has generally been right all these years.

IE- i check into a hotel and they ask me for my home address.  I tell them i dont want thier junk mail, they tell me that wont happen, i say its happend in the past and its happening now with holiday inn express, they say sorry.  Then the want to photo copy my drivers license and credit card,,,,, OH HELL NO.

Just think about how much that stuff is worth

Oh i forgot, it wont be used for anything,,,,,,,,,,,,,therefore they dont need it right?

Pretty sure you can refuse that stuff. We did the same garbage when I worked at a dealership.

they use it only to send you the answer.  if you dont want to use it then dont use it its your loss and only your loss.

Never used it didnt even know it existed but if they are going to pay you a few cents per answer then you are an employee and therefore they will need your SS# for tax purposes. Granted if its a few cents per answer it will take awhile before you get a 1099 from them, I think its $600 and over when they must report it.

a friend of ours does this and she is making about $300 a week.  it just depends on how much time you have to put into this.

Ill be blunt, i hope its your loss.

because ive been in hard times , beans and rice so to speak but not that well off to be frank and here is how all this is gonna go down for you one day.............

You get laid off,
you go in and file for unemployment
you sit down with the gal across from you and they review your work history.
you are shown what you made, what your employer paid into unemployment ect.

then you are asked an odd quesiton............
Did you ever work in Elisibeth KY.

I say no........... why?

Well, it appears a Chevron paid unemployment benefits under your ssn for several weeks at that location,,,,,,are you sure you didnt work there.

No i say again,, how could this happen Ma'm?

HER>  well, the only thing i can think of is someone is using your ssn for an employee there.  Perhaps it was a migrant worker or something,, we dont know. Would you like the Stations information?

yes

Ok,, here it is, would you like to look into this?

ME> NO, its fraud and you guys are suppose to do that right?

Her> well, we have been so downsized lately that this is something we cant take care of anymore.  Maybe you could call the SS Administration.

Me> ok, whats the number

Her> not really sure who you would call on this but can we get back to your unemployment claim and look into that later

Me> yeah,,

Good luck on your tinkering.

I hear you man, I got laid off in December and haven't found work yet. I wish I had a college degree at this point.
