New Drag Radials on the way for the Mustang.....3/13 They're on! Reply #2 – February 24, 2009, 07:26:36 PM Yup, on bullitts The stock bullitt wheels are 8" wide. I picked up a brand new and UNUSED pair of 9" wide ones for $100....The M&H's run a little narrow and I sa a picture of the 275/50-17's mounted on the rims I have....Didn't look right at all. The lip of the wheel was out past the tire....These look like they're gonna fit nice! Quote Selected

Reply #8 – February 26, 2009, 06:45:00 AM Last night was the first time I'd really taken the Cougar out for a drive with the new suspension since the weather got cold in December up here. A WOT 1-2 shift @ 50 or so produced wheelhop. I knew these tires hardened up considerably when it got cold, but !I'd like to find something maybe 27" tall for an 8-9 inch wide rim.... Quote Selected

I wish it didn't happen till 50 mph :hick: Does the Cougar still have the 7.5 in it? If you want an 8.8 just put the drag radials on the Cougar ;) Quote Selected

Reply #12 – February 27, 2009, 02:23:12 AM The way that 7.5 is built, I'll twist a axle tube before anything else happens.....QuoteHell my T-bird has wheel hop off the line. I wish it didn't happen till 50 mph Trust me, you don't. One side was worse than the other. I can honestly say that a good amount of people would have lost control of the car if the same thing happened to them.I won't even attempt a launch in this climate....Bad things will happen that will cost money. Reply #13 – February 27, 2009, 08:25:48 AM Not sure what size rim you were looking for a 27" tire in, but Mickey Thompson makes a 27" diameter ET Street Radial for 17" wheels.P295/45R17 28X11.50R17 9.5-11.0 27.2 I've read of several who have put this on a 9" rim. Reply #14 – February 27, 2009, 01:38:53 PM An option for a 15 inch rim......27.2" diameter.http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.asp?autofilter=1&part=MNH-MSS004&N=700+4294923107+4294922134+400519+4294793325+4294793730+320522+115&autoview=skuI'd like something that fits a 16X8 rim for the Cougar. I have an idea what I want if I were to use a performance street tire, but just looking at other options as well. The rims have not been purchased yet, but I'm ready to jump that hurdle.
