Well here's is the next project on my 88 its a dash swap from a fox mustang 87 was going to do the sn95 dash but I don't think it fits the body style and would look bad with the rest of the interior and being the stang dash is 95% plastic ill have no more cracks

A whole 2 seconds pulled this up with the search keys "Dash" and "sn-95".

I honestly dont think you could exceed the cost of a new car buy installing new *stock* parts everywhere in your coug our tbird. Its just plain impossible. You could revamp the entire drivetrain/engine/suspenstion and still come out ahead.

fox stang dash imo would be going backwards. sn95 > fox bird/cougar dash.

After swapping heater cores in a Fox Stang a few weeks ago for a friend,I told my wife that the interior of those cars was the cheapest feeling plastic interiors I've seen.Keep the factory dash, buy a dash cap,be happy.

I've given it thought lately, that my '95 Jeep GC dash is about the same color as my interior.  hmmm, I wonder if it fits?

I have a mint dash out of my 87 v8 thunderbird. It seems too complicated of a swap to change it out. This dash is perfect. PM me if interested.

well since we are on the topic.... why was fords bright idea to make the dash non removable in the aspect of the top part... its moulded with everything that goes into the center consol, around the glove box :(

i would leave it in the car. its fairly likely that it will crack daent, and what not by the time you get it out, nevermind installing it into another car.

I know this is an old thread but I found it during a search and just had to say:  the SN95 dash is not plastic (on the outside).  It is a hard plastic shell with closed-cell foam covered in textured vinyl.  The exterior is soft and can actually be peeled off... yes I've done it.  It's not brittle like the older vinyl dashes (ie: fox)

Since you've resurrected an old thread, I thought I would chime in with a bit of information. I once read that GOJO will soften an old and hard dash pad quite nicely. I haven't tried it yet, but...

Wow just stumbled on this thread and it's amazing that the later model Mustang dash fits in there. It's interesting too because it's retro-authentic in design. The double brow dash pad theme originated on all Tbirds from 1958-63 which in turn inspired the design on the original Mustang.

That would be an interesting alternative to dealing with the py cracked plastic dash shell on my 1984 Tbird.
