Gggrrrr!

So, we are getting the snow dumped on us today, and school was canceled.
Roger was on his way home from work, when a guy made a left hand turn into him, hit the front of the Taurus and shoved him into a 3rd car that was coming up on Roger's right, so it damaged the entire front end, front fender and headlight, etc.
He can't drive the car because he can't steer it, so it had to be towed.
The guy that hit him was in a GE vehicle so GE has to cover everything.

Roger is just pissed that it happened. But no one was hurt so at least there is that.
He said he doesn't know if it won't steer because it's packed full of snow, or if it's from damage and stuff hanging down.

I had to find a ride for him to get home because he didn't want me to take the Cougar out, not that I wanted to either.  So I finally got a hold of the boy's friend Corey and he happened to be a few blocks away from where Roger was, so he is bringing him home.

I guess now we have to figure out to get a rental (also has to be covered by GE).

Maybe they'll total the Taurus and we can get out from under the car payment! ;)

Glad everyone was O.K. after the accident. At least the Taurus took the hit and not the Cougar that day.It could always be worse.

Oh man, I'd have hated to see the guy after Roger got done with him if it was the Cougar.  I'd have probably had to raise bail! lol

We don't take the Cougar out during the winter unless we have to. It sounds terrible, but we'd rather have damage to the Taurus instead of the Cougar if it's going to happen.

We are sick, sick people! LMAO

Glad everyone's OK.
You need to move up north, and out of the snow belt.

Glad everyone is ok. If GE is taking their time getting you a rental, call your insurance company and have them get you one. They'll get it back from GE. I'm sure they'll be notified anyway

You're not the only one who's put their "special" car away for the winter ;)

You know it's been in the 20s and 30s here the last few days but other than a few flurries we've gotten no snow. Now to the east in Indiana they've been getting screwed by the lake effect snow. I'm glad Chicago is on the west side of the great lakes ;)

We're supposed to have our first major storm of the season tonight & tomorrow (10-12"). Funny, though - we had 2" (yes, two inches) yesterday and it was traffic pandemonium. There were people stranded in their cars for 16 hours. My power was out for about 8 hours. For two inches of snow. I shudder to think what will happen if we get this foot of snow...

The worst of it is my car is outside. I've got a deer hanging in the garage, so the car's gotta stay out. Oh well... without salt I guess it's just frozen rain, so the car won't melt

Ive driven Cougars in the winters and ice...... not fun, I dont recommend it.  You will have NO traction, even with weight in the trunk.

When I got my first job out of college, (driving home one night on KC city streets)  11:00pm, freezing rain, at a stoplight and let off the brake to go and it just spins idling....you know its gonna be a long drive home.  I said hell with this and bought my first 4WD truck the next day.  Always had one since.

My cougar never ever got stuck in the snow in all the years that it was a DD in Buffalo. The last winter I drove it was in 02 in a snow storm. No problem driving.
Make sure you have good tires, that's all
