pcv valve location Reply #18 – November 12, 2008, 06:54:07 PM that little f tip on the pcv valve is removable (it's a generic valve) so that the 1 big hose can fit in it Quote Selected
pcv valve location Reply #19 – November 13, 2008, 06:46:48 PM does the end that has the f tip have a place to go after it is removed? Quote Selected

pcv valve location Reply #21 – December 14, 2008, 03:58:14 PM Ok so its been a while since this thread has had any new posts, but it seems a waste to start a new one. I gave up on looking for the grommet that the pcv goes into for a while now, and the boredom and brokeness of my Sunday got me off my a$$ to finally start looking once again. Took me all of about 1 minute to locate it this time ( regardless of the pics in this thread i was still looking in the wrong spot). Well now the car is idling worse than it was when the pcv was just hanging freely off that 1/2 inch hose, however has no more hesitation when i give it some juice. Is it possible that the screen below the grommet is clogged with deposits? By the way the pcv itself is new. Sorry for the long post guys, any advice? Quote Selected
pcv valve location Reply #22 – December 14, 2008, 05:23:51 PM Well ive takenb a look at the screen and it is totally clogged, its so badc that you can barely see the mesh but i cant get it out, anybody know how to get it out? Quote Selected
pcv valve location Reply #23 – December 14, 2008, 06:28:32 PM The best method is to hook the mesh using a dental pick (or comparable tool) and pull it straight up. Quote Selected
pcv valve location Reply #24 – December 14, 2008, 06:40:44 PM Yea thats sorta what i did, i used a pair of needlenose and pulled it out, it was filthy, i blew in it hard as i could (while getting grease all over my mouth) and it didnt let a bit of air through. Could that being clogged and the pcv not being connected to the grommet cause an odd idle and hesitation? i havent taken it for a drive yet, but it seems to be a hell of a lot better, although i fear my other vacuum lines may be in need of a serious cleaning. The crankcase gases will build up, rob some power and find other creative ways to escape.Sounds like you need to go over the vacuum system on the car thoroughly and see what the deal is... pcv valve location Reply #28 – December 15, 2008, 05:50:27 PM Well ive seen a giant increase in power and throttle response when the car is parked (currently not street worthy, rusted brake lines:mad: ) no more hesitation and screwed up idling, it dosent stall out when i hit the gas like it did before, but you guys are right, i need to thoroughly go over my vacuum lines and pull some codes, how does the sea foam thing workwhen cleaning the lines?
