Good trade? October 28, 2008, 04:38:45 PM So i have the opportunity to trade the 93 3.8l i have for a 96 cadillac deville... The caddy needed a head gasket, and it was taken apart,, sat for a month.. now theres rust in the cylinders and so on... I called the local boneyards and i can get the complete 32valve northstar motor for 180... bucks... i figure hey 180 bucks for the motor and ill still have the other one for parts n such.. Besides the motor it needs cat back exhaust and the drivers quarter is a little banged up... The interior is mint... tan leather... the drivers seat is alittle rippped,,.. Now the 93 xr7 had the head gaskets replaced and has some bodywork to be done.. dents on the trunk and drivers quarter.. Let me know what you guys think....Im debating weather or not to trade caues i dont want to bite off more than i can chew....and i know caddys like their wiring problems.. thanks guys... Good trade? Reply #2 – October 29, 2008, 01:58:29 AM Early Northstars are S(&*, from what Ive heard. I think its a head warping problem. I cant remember. You might be able to flip it for more than the Bird though. $180 for the motor sounds really good though. Quote Selected
