Need some Help... Kinda

Ok Im reenlisting and putting 4k of my bonus towards my stock 88 thunderbird turbo coupe...

I need some Ideas that can squeeze a whole lot more power out of my bird....

Im already thinking 4.10 gears in the back axles... But what are your ideas? I know i need a new turbo, FMIC, Fuel pump...

My buddy has a 88 Galant VR-4 and I want to be able to compete with it....

NOT! That is unless you wanna be like everyone else and go Cubes. I tell you to step it up with what you've got. That 2.3T is a handful just need to unleash the beast! Turn up the wick. If you have a stock TC invest some time and money you can make it rip like crazy. 1st get your self a manual boost controller(MBC) that way you can turn up the PSI and make some more power. Take your time and work with the car to turn it up but not so much you feel it pulling timing at upper RPM's. Next EXHAUST!(more air in means more air out). Then retune you PSI to your setup. Then you might as well since you have the cash get a FMIC kit and install! Setup a less restrictive cold air intake. Don't forget you'll want at least a narrow band AIR/FUEL gauge or even better a wide band O2 setup. Can't forget to get yourself a ByPassValve(kinda like a BOV but better cause you can route the released air into the front side of the turbo and help it keep spooled up in between shifts.  Can't forget to garb a adjustable Fuel pressure regulator just to add in tuning your setup.  as for a turbo upgrade the IHI should be good to near 18PSI and has a slightly quicker spool to it. Yes that fuel pump upgrade sounds like a very good idea. Then the hardest thing of all the ability to stick with getting it all dialed in. And of course what all you wanna do really depends on what power level your goal is. Granted I don't know your buddy or his ride but I know I took many of them out with my old 84 SUPRA! My buddy ended up with my current Turbo coupe while I had that SUPRA. It was very funny cause my SUPRA could take My bird in the tight tiwsties but any time we hit a good straight My bird would pull over and get around me. Both cars were BONE STOCK.  As a test move the stock TOP MOUNT to infront of the RAD that should help. Unless you are moving above 40mph it is more of a AIR heater above the Exhaust mani!

Thats possible with methanol injection, Megasquirt, a REALLY big turbo and a decent pump.  4K would be more than enough to get mine there.
