What tires are you running on 10 hole rims?

Awhile back I got a set of 10 hole rims from a 85 turbo coupe for little $. My son had taken my turbines for his car and now I am thinking of putting these on my 87 Bird. I had BFG T/A's on my turbines but dont know how raised white letter will look on these rims. If you have any pics of your cars post a pic and let me know what size you went with so I can decide what to do. As always thanks for the insight.

Pirelli P600's    235/60-15

They've become rather expensive since I ordered them.
I paid under $500 for 4 tires IIRC.

A 235/60/15 is about .4" taller and about .5" wider than a 225/60/15 tire correct? I was thinking about running 235/60/15s if I got 10 holes. They look good and not too *baloony* on your car so I might go with that size.

225/50/ZR15 Fronts, 245/50/ZR15s on the rear.

BF Goodrich Compt T/As.  If they were still available, I'd get another set...they are freaking awesome.  These are on Turbines, but they look good on 10 holes too.

Tire Size Calculator

The stock size for the '87 on 16 inch wheels was 225/60-16, 26.62 inch diameter, 8,85 inch section width.

The 235/60-15 is 26.10 inches diameter and 9.25 inch section width.

The 245/60-15 is 26.57 inches diameter and 9.64 inch section width.

I'ld maybe look at the 245/60-15 myself.  Double check for room between strut and inside of front tire as well.

I have Sumitomo 245/50/16 on all 4 of my snowflakes. They are summer tires and are very sticky.

I went with 225/60/15 Mohawks. Nice and sticky but not to sticky. Also according to the tire calculator they keep my speedo just about dead on.

Provided they are on the same size rim, they SHOULDN'T be....

Are you referring to this?

Different size rim.

Certain brands of tires are known to run small though.....Nitto drag radials for one.  It's more width than height though...

FWIW, the OP asked about 10 HOLE RIMS...

I bought a set of Fuzion HRi's in 225/60R15's...amazing tire made by Bridgestone...excellent wet and dry weather traction...from other people I've talked to, dry weather traction is surpassed only by Toyo Proxes 4...but the Fuzion's have much better wet weather traction...they're relatively cheap too...at least they were when I bought them.

And for what it's worth, tire size calculators are total ...a 225/60R15 will measure 24.5" give or take +/- .2"(depending on inflation pressure and wear), not 26" and change.  BFG Radial T/A's are great for raised white lettering but if traction is an issue for you, well...forget those tires even exist.
