how hard is it to put a gm engine into a foxbird? My dirt track chicken has shelled 2 motors in the stock division and a friend of mine has a highly modifed 383 and th350 trans im thinking about puttin it in my car if i cant get a dirt mod chassis. the mounting is the only question exhaust and wiring are no big deal

GM engines are not any better than Ford ones. For the money and time you spend putting a Chevy in your T-bird, you could build a better SBF for your car.

I don't think he asked which one was better.  I think the only reason he asked is because he has access to an already-built motor for cheap.  It's a dirt-track car anyway, not as if it's being passed off as a show car.

Its fairly easy, use turbo coupe hoses to keep your radiator, motor plate will make it easy to mount (i made my mounts) use 67-81 gm car headers and change the rag joint in the steering sector to a Needle bearing style joint.Use a performance suspension trans mount. you will need a old style gm yoke for the trans and may have to change the driveshaft depending on where you put the motor.

Or you can use G body shorty headers and modify the header and firewall. (see last pic)
