Arghh!

:stupid:
I freaking knew it was gonna happen... But what do i do? i do it anyway... sigh.

The caravan has about 18gallons of gas i need to syphon out before we sell it, So i went out to do that~
And ended up with a mouth full of gasoline. :mad: :mad: :mad:
...
Yea, yea... you can all stop laughing now.
I have freaking gas burps now. :flame:

And i dont even have the gas out of the tank. :punchballs:
Bad day...

I welcomed the dark side and currently am driving a 2000 Dodge Durango SLT plus, with a 5.9, Code named project "Night Runner"
Shes black on black, fully loaded, with headers, 180 tstat, e fan, straight exhaust into a cherry bomb vortex ler, full tune up, ported intake and T/B, MSD coil, and round aircleaner.
Mods to come: Fully rebuilt and heavily modded 46RE, and a richmond rachet locker.

Forget that! If the pump on the van works pop the fuel line at the filter and attach some rubber line. Now turn on the key and you have a hillbilly fuel pump. Works great. Now if the pump doesn't work go get you spyhion  pump and hose. Sux to here about the gas burps! that has gotta burn.

Nope ain't happinin'... No fuel pump I know of in a FI vehicle will continue to run without the engine running...

It's easy enough to ground the FP relay at the EEC test plug on the Fords so it runs with just the ign s/w on, but I don't have a clue about that foreign stuff(anything non Ford)...

I bought a siphon from WalMart for $3.00.It has a squeeze bulb and takes all of the gas drinking,fuel burping fun out of getting the gas from the tank.

Haha,
Risky too with the metal tank.

On the local news this morning they were talking about how dealerships are having massive fuel thefts lately.
They drill into the tank, Most of the time they are plastic, but one owner showed them a metal one with a jagged hole in it... lol.

The burps are so nasty, I feel dirty... lol.
It's weird, Theres like no flavor in the liquid but the fumes are potent as hell.
Never again will i do that. :mullet:

Yea after the incident i walked a few blocks to schucks and bought one... why i didnt this in the first place? i really dont know. :wtf:

Anyway, I managed to get the gas out.
Theres some unknown (to me) metal tube coming from the top of the tank or somewhere, thats capped off.
Got the syphon on there (After the suckage incident, haha), and she drained nicely.

i had this happen to me a couple of years ago when i siphoned gas from my truck before i sold it(blown motor). it had dual tanks and about 70 gallons of gas in it. this was back when gas was not even two bucks.
i tasted gas in my mouth for atleast three days straight even without belching, god it was awful i had to have swallowed atleast a half a gallon that night:toilet:
ill tell you that those tube siphon kits suck thick if you know what i mean.
wish i wouldve been smart enough to do the fuel pump thing back then.

I don't understand why you would swallow gas while siphoning it. First time I did it, I was 16 and used to steal it out of my dads station wagon to get to work and back. And yes he let me do it.

We just mounted an old electric pump to a board, connect to 12v, put one hose in tank and the other in a can, viola.:D
