Whoooaa...hello Firefox 3 June 18, 2008, 03:11:24 AM So Firefox 3 just released the other day...I've been an IE7 user for a while; tried Firefox a few times, but never was impressed. I decided to try out the latest, Firefox 3, and wooooooooow. I have never seen my internet pages load so quickly (I'm using a basic DSL line). It's A LOT faster than any other browser I've tried. I definitely recommend it. Haven't seen a single pop up either. Quote Selected

For those who don't know, Mozilla is trying to get in the Guinness Book of World Records for having the most downloads in 24hrs. Help out, if you want, and go get it. Quote Selected

None the less 3 looks like it has alot of eye candy in it (my brother downloaded it i probably will not). Quote Selected
Whoooaa...hello Firefox 3 Reply #9 – June 19, 2008, 07:02:37 AM Eye candy? It looks pretty basic to me, and I'm use themes. I have to see what the default skin looks like now. Quote Selected
Whoooaa...hello Firefox 3 Reply #10 – June 19, 2008, 07:07:25 AM Eye Candy? It looks pretty basic to me. I put the skin back to the Default to see what you're talking about (I'm a theme user). If you're concerned that it's graphic intensive and sacrifices speed, you've got nothing to worry about. I just uploaded that image to photobucket in about four seconds flat. Quote Selected
Whoooaa...hello Firefox 3 Reply #11 – June 19, 2008, 09:42:39 AM I've been pleasantly surprised. Firefox 3 doesn't suck nearly as much as I thought it would. Rendering is a LOT faster now...Too bad Safari was just as fast, oh, 3 years ago. It won't supplant that as my main browser, but Firefox has been my fave on the PC for awhile now. At least they're moving forward, not sideways. They've been stuck in a rut for awhile now.Latest figures are that Firefox (all versions) has 20% of the worldwide market now, and climbing. Europe has almost 30% usage. Safari also keeps growing thanks to the iPhone and climbing Mac/OS X sales. IE is down to 65% and falling, from 94% about 4 years ago. How times have changed... Whoooaa...hello Firefox 3 Reply #12 – June 19, 2008, 09:59:37 AM I've been playing with the add-ons for awhile today. The three best I've found yet?-Adblock Plus (naturally)-Flashblock (no flash animations unless you click on it)-FoxyTunes (embeds your audio player controls in the browser... any audio player)I'm also using GooglePreview (Inserts website previews next to the link with your google search results. Yes, this is eye candy, but you can turn it off with a button in the lower right) and the UK English dictionary.https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefoxThere are more add-ons than you could ever make use of. This is perhaps the best thing about Firefox; it's so easy to personalise. Quote Selected
