Got a new speed demon to replace the TC!

HA, not really.

And by speed demon... I mean... gasmiser.

93 Ford Festiva L baby. 167,000 miles on the clock. Rust free. Not quite dent free. Starts and runs like a champ. Brakes and tires are shot. Parts are dirt cheap though.

Scored for $450. Put money down on it today and will finish the deal tomorrow when banks are open. I should be able to manage 50 mpg out of it, which will pay off quickly.

I actually cannot believe how roomy it is inside. Its also pretty peppy. 65hp goes a long way in a 1600-1700 lb car.

A B6t swap from a turbo 323 or capri is an instant 200% bump in horsepower. Theyre like 132hp from the factory and 200hp is easy. Oh yeah, the motor is a direct drop in.

See the following...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cda6HH2Q9Hc

And this one would probably lay waste to just about anything we have to offer... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ogHfsnnt2cc&feature=related

So yeah, I wouldnt knock the fordmazdakiamobile.... they have potential.

Im looking to use about half the gas I do right now anyway, so a turbo/bigger engine isnt planned.

Heh yeah, I have a liking for the domestic turbos I guess. Of course turbo fords and a bit for the dodges now that we have had the shadow for a while now. I just wish it had a 5 speed!

Now I know the mazda turbo motors arent domestic but I *did* want a turbo capri before I found my TC. Never did get ahold of one though. Then I got my GF into them and basically its next on her list of cars to get. The shadow is her first car, so after its gone she will move on up to a capri, and then someday get her dream mini cooper s, lol.

Have fun going poor then....Most cars like that up here are in such a poor state they would cost too much to fix....I wouldn't mind finding a Dodge Colt diesel.

I'm like dominator lord I couldn't stand having to run around in a little toy like that all the time but with gas where it is I could totally use it the majority of the time and then say on weekends or once or twice a week drive the cougar to work or use it for a random trip here and there to "get my fix" lol.

I honestly dont think you could exceed the cost of a new car buy installing new *stock* parts everywhere in your coug our tbird. Its just plain impossible. You could revamp the entire drivetrain/engine/suspenstion and still come out ahead.

I would just put a decent ler just to free up air flow a CAI of some kind, that should boost mileage fairly well, then just tint the hell out of it so for those who dont like to be seen wont be haha.

The SHOgun

In 1990, Chuck Beck of Special Editions and Rick Titus took seven Festivas, gutted the interiors, and mounted Ford SHO 3.0 L V6s behind the front seats to make the car mid-engined. There were substantial cosmetic and mechanical changes, including relocating the gas tank to the front of the car, structural bracing and improvements to the chassis, adding wider wheel arches to accommodate a wider stance and larger tires, and a complete redesign of the suspension. These changes resulted in a car that could accelerate from 0-60 mph in 4.6 seconds, travel the ¼ mile (0.4 km) in 12.9 seconds at 100.9 mph (162 km/h), and could achieve a lateral acceleration figure ranging from .95 to 1.04 g [1]. Of the seven, Jay Leno owns the silver one, which is number 003

Go ahead and make fun of Festivas all your want now. :hick:
