Anyone have a pic of screw locations for the dashboard? i'm removing mine. March 10, 2005, 09:43:48 PM I'm painting my dashboard black along with the rest of my interior, I heard how hard t is to remove the dash. But it can't be as hard as painting a dash whiles it's still in the car.I'm good for everything else, just the dash I found maybe 40% of the screws, I know there are more than like...12. Re: Anyone have a pic of screw locations for the dashboard? i'm removing mine. Reply #6 – March 11, 2005, 11:25:31 AM Hey Eric. I read the part about the dash removal and it said you may not be able to get the dash out of the car. Is this because it won't fit or because you need to remove the defrost air tubes from it and some wires? Quote Selected

Re: Anyone have a pic of screw locations for the dashboard? i'm removing mine. Reply #8 – March 11, 2005, 11:36:48 AM Oh, it's because of all the frickin' wiring and hoses and vacuum lines. Once you do that...heck, not bad at all. In my case, the dash is absolutely mint and I just did not want to risk cracking or damaging it with a full removal. Quote Selected
Re: Anyone have a pic of screw locations for the dashboard? i'm removing mine. Reply #9 – March 11, 2005, 04:05:02 PM Mine's mint too, possibly the only thing left on the interior that doesn't have a scratch or some unknown substanced stuck on it. It's just I wanna change the color. Quote Selected
Re: Anyone have a pic of screw locations for the dashboard? i'm removing mine. Reply #10 – March 12, 2005, 12:56:06 AM I'm thinking you'd be best off to just mask off and paint it in the car. I think Will and Crystal both painted thiers in the car. Plus, once you pull the dash out, you can develop annoying creaks.. sometimes the glove box doens't close right anymore. If you're just painting it would be a LOT easier to do it in the car. Quote Selected
Re: Anyone have a pic of screw locations for the dashboard? i'm removing mine. Reply #11 – March 12, 2005, 10:07:28 AM I couldn't get it out because there was one part that was attached to the steering column and I don't wanna mess with that so I just pulled it out far enough to put paper behind it and sprayed it. I put two cracks in the dash, one at the left dash speaker and one at the right side window defogger(screw driver slipped), you can't see either of them because it's a hair line crack. I just gotta say the black and silver look great together. I'll post some pics later. Quote Selected

It always seems that when I'm tackling a new project I check the boards and someone is doing it too. I came on here today to find out if anyone knows those hex key sizes for removing those annoying screws in the bezels.I'm repainting the faded black trim --->black and the woodgrain ---> gunmetal. Reply #13 – March 13, 2005, 06:46:45 AM Quotehex key sizes for removing those annoying screws in the bezels.TORX, not hex, and it's T-20 for the brass colored ones. You may find some T-15s, so bring both drivers.. Quote Selected
