it's obviously pretty old, seems to be about '94. it's still good for our cars tho. that's what you get for getting a new car dare :p

This is where you can get yourself in alot of trouble with trannys.
This and many other reasons are why i have not jumped into them yet.

you see,, i did a lot of asking,,looking in JY's,,comparing info and have found out that its a vendor issue.
I still know nothing about a transmission,,,period. i prefer to remain silent for now.

you gotta find that one vendor out there who has knowledgable parts teams and runs the company with good reaseach abilities.

what ive found out is that you've gotta be in the industry for years to learn the 5w's of a company in order to trust them.  where they get their parts,, who makes em,, ect ect.  I found someone like this and she's pretty much a digger when it comes to finding out who a good vendor is.

links like the one you posted are easy to find,, i found a few myself and thought id save money buying my 5 speed rebuild kit from company x and telling her to install it.  She was more than happy to but she warned me id be paying for it if the kit was partial or one thing was messed up.

Your best bet is to find someone close to you who gives a  and see if they would guide you a little.,preferably someone with some grey hair.
To me ,, transmission rebuilding is still considered a *CRAFT* and a closely held secret of those who perform quality separated from those who turn out quanity. Folks whom speak in terms of craft are probably those who care.

heres you a prime example of Vendor issues
I have a band saw mill that uses two 14'' v pulleys to hold the blade.  In the V section of the pully you must install a "V"belt.  In effect, the blade rides on the backside of the belt and this is where it gets important.

A gates belt made in mexico is flat on the backside
A gates belt make in the US is humped on the back.

Both are the same part numbers,,same length,, same material,,same everything......

problem is you gotta have the one with the hump or your blade will walk off the pully more easily so its a safety issue for me and the manufacturer insists on it.
They learned the hard way and sent out memo's to owners about the Gates belt issue.
