would these 2001 Bullit springs work on the back of my 1988 Cougar XR7? Reply #1 – May 08, 2008, 07:27:30 AM Only if you use adjustable rear lower control arms and adjust the spring seats up a bunch. The Mustang springs are about 3" shorter than T-Bird springs. Quote Selected
would these 2001 Bullit springs work on the back of my 1988 Cougar XR7? Reply #2 – May 08, 2008, 08:16:02 AM I had no problem running Bullitt springs all around. The rear did sit about a 1/2 lower than the front though. Thought about buying some spacers or some ARLCAs but it just didn't bother me that much. My next setup will be very similar to yours. Coilovers in the front, Bullitt/Mach 1 Springs in the rear. Adjustable RLCAs wouldn't hurt either. :) Quote Selected
would these 2001 Bullit springs work on the back of my 1988 Cougar XR7? Reply #3 – May 08, 2008, 08:51:12 AM How did you run Bullitt springs in the back without dragging your gas tank on the ground? When I had my Mach 1 and TC springs side by side there was at least 3" difference in height. I think there's actually a photo comparing them somewhere that someone else took...*EDIT* Here's the pic, Cougar5.0 posted it: Quote Selected
would these 2001 Bullit springs work on the back of my 1988 Cougar XR7? Reply #4 – May 08, 2008, 03:07:25 PM Not sure, but I do not recall the physical height difference between my rear springs being that significant. I've even had 3 other adults in my car and they only thing I remember that sped was my sagging exhaust. Quote Selected

Reply #5 – May 08, 2008, 03:15:27 PM I can't imagine how anyone could use the Bullitt/Mach1 rear springs without adjustable spring perches (or at least spacers). Saying they will work as a drop-in is really bad advice IMO.Also, use the search fuction, dude -> http://www.foxtbirdcougarforums.com/showthread.php?t=16552&highlight=spring Quote Selected

would these 2001 Bullit springs work on the back of my 1988 Cougar XR7? Reply #7 – May 08, 2008, 05:24:15 PM Since I had to raise the spring perches 1 1/4" over the already higher than stock setting of the CHE arms when using these springs & I was left at 27" from the ground to fender lip, where would lowering the mounting point of the spring by about another 1 1/2" leave you?My quick calculation says that the fender lip will be 24.8" above the ground which is approximately a 3" drop from stock. Not exactly a drop-in. Quote Selected

I have one of mine dropped 3" and I don't have any problems yet :hick: Quote Selected
