CJ Q's

Is there an official schedule for the event for whats going on for each day or is that still in planning?

I really would like to attend but Im still not sure Ill be able to. Money is probably the main concern because of the hotel stay. Im currently out of a job (but I have a good lead on something at circuit city) so Im stuck to pinching pennies right now. If it came down to it I could skip out on one of the event days and if it really came down to it I could skip out on the hotel and try out those fancy turbo coupe seats for a night (:hick: :hick: :hick:). Though now that I think about it CJ is just a couple weeks before my birthday and I could probably get some bday money to help pay for the hotel stay.

Also is there a list of members that will be attending? If theres several members from my area attending Id like to contact them and maybe organize a convoy for the trip.

I probably sound crazy to some of you guys that will be travelling like 10+ hours to CJ, beings that it should only be a 3 hour drive for me.

And who wants to give me free parts?

I think I just need some more info as to whats going on, when, etc. I have a feeling Eric is working on it too, unless theres something I missed reading up on.

I can't really give you an "official" schedule, but I think I can tell you how it has gone in the past years.

Friday is basically a "meet-n-greet" day. There aren't usually any set plans for Friday. Everyone shows up when they show up, and mill around and look at each others cars, say hello to old friends, and meet new ones.

Saturday is when most of the "scheduled" stuff takes place. We usually meet at the Red Roof Inn parking lot at around 10 AM. We meet here for the caravan to Mill Creek Park, but we usually line the cars up for a photo session before we leave for the park too. We then caravan to the park at around 10:30-11:00 for the cookout. The park is another great opportunity for photos. Then we eat, have the Chinese Auction, and alot of folks take this time to do what detailing on their cars they wish to do...for the car show. At around 4:30-5:00, we organize our cars from oldest to newest so that they are in order at the show. We then caravan back into Boardman for the Valley Cruzers cruise-in. The Valley Cruzers block off a section of the parking just for our cars (at least I'm assuming they will still be doing that, with the new location and all).

After the show, usually around 8:30-9:00, we do something together for dinner. In the past this has been at different restaurants and last year we just ordered pizza and had that at RRI. Which I personally think worked out really well. After that, we usually just socialize in the RRI parking lot until whenever you decide it's bedtime. :)

Sunday is mostly for Eric to gather everyone's photos for inclusion on the CJ DVD and website.

On another note; I see you are from Swanton. I'm assuming that if you make it, you'll be taking I80 over to the east. I'm from Findlay and so is my brother (who will be taking his own Cat this year), and I think there is someone from IN who I believe takes US30 over. I thought maybe if you wanted to save on tolls, you could come down to Findlay (just down the road on I75), and then you, my bro, and I (and anyone else who wants to of course (Shannon..Dennis..hint hint :)  )) could meet the other guy somewhere on US30 and have a 4 car caravan. It won't really be out of your way, since you'll have to go south once you get over there anyway (30 does go a bit farther south than we really need, but not by much and it's 4 lane all the way). Just a thought.

US30 actually adds about 70 miles to the trip. Ill prolly stick to the turnpike. Toll shouldnt be more than $15 both ways.

Kevin's assessment is pretty spot-on. I am working on something for Friday night this year, though. Unfortunately some things cannot be completed well in advance so I cannot give a final itinerary until a few weeks before the show. That's just the nature of planning things. Just like everyone else, I'm busy with other things in life too, but I do the best I can with what I've got at this point in time.

Any new or updated show info will be posted on my site (http://www.catjam.net) and in the official thread on this board.

If you mean down to Findlay, we could meet at Super America (Speedway) Gas, it's just off the Interstate and VERY easy to get to. I think last year we left around 1 pm, but let's wait until closer to then for that, and also see if there's anyone else wanting to meet up.

The addy for Speedway is;
11585 Township Road 99 Findlay, OH 45840

It's exit 161 off of I-75

Once we get out of Findlay, it's all 4-lane on over. We used to take US224 over since it was a direct east shot to Boardman, but we found that we cut about 30-45 minutes off the trip taking US30 over, even though it takes us a little farther south than needed.
