MAC or BBK Intake March 02, 2005, 11:48:51 PM Looking for an intake now....Well basically I have the 5.0 w/o MAF. So I'm shootin for either a MAC or BBK. I have a cone filter on my stock air tube right now, but its no good cuz its sucking hot air right beside the engine. So i want a fenderwell one, plus the chrome will look fancier.Which do you guys have? Any trouble with them? Any difference? I heard that the BBK one doesnt fit well and you have to rig it up. But that was on the mustang forums, so cant trust them. Any help, suggestions, place you purchased info, price. Would be awesome. Sorry about asking sooooo many questions on the boards lately, I'm doing tons of stuff to the car all at once. Its all the saved winter money burning a hole in my wallet. Thanks 4 the help! Re: MAC or BBK Intake Reply #2 – March 03, 2005, 12:08:27 AM chopped the stock box to pieces that i used the stock airtube and attached that to the cones neck. Since the air box was cut off from the tube and I knew I was going to get an intake someday, decided that I had no use for it. Quote Selected
Re: MAC or BBK Intake Reply #3 – March 03, 2005, 07:22:37 AM The 5.0 Bird I just bought has a BBK fenderwell setup. I'm not impressed with it at all, too close to the strut tower and bangs around on it. Gonna try triming it a little, and stick it on my Bird. Quote Selected
Re: MAC or BBK Intake Reply #4 – March 03, 2005, 10:04:30 AM I am using Summit's fenderwell CAI kit, which seems to be made by BBK but without their huge logo embossed on the tube. It was also about $10 cheaper. Works well, show quality chrome, and it did clear my strut tower brace (then again, my STB was custom). I would recommend it. Quote Selected
Re: MAC or BBK Intake Reply #5 – March 03, 2005, 08:09:02 PM Are those fenderwell units hard to get to? I apologize to crystal i jacked this from your site but that almost looks like you have to take the fender off to get at it. Quote Selected
