Opinions for this engine/trans combo?

So pretty much on a whim I bought a 2006 Mustang to use as a daily driver.  I'm young and single I can do that :D

But anyway now that my Bird has lost that last vestige of responsibility I'm free to go wild with it without having to worry about the expense of keeping it efficient ;)

So I'm thinking kind of an old school cheap and dirty build of a 393 stroker backed by a more or less stock C4.  Any ideas or experience to contribute?

I'll probably go with some ported junkyard heads or maybe some cheap aluminum heads off ebay.  The cam will be fairly mild, idle-5500 or so.  Only hatched this idea last night, I don't have exact specs in mind yet.

GT40 or GT40P heads can be ported to make really good power. If you can find a 96 up 5.0 Explorer you can get the heads from it. If you use the GT40P heads you'll have to enlarge the bolt holes as the GT40P heads only cam on 5.0s so they have the smaller 289/302 head bolts.
