enlighten me to what these wheels are Reply #2 – December 20, 2007, 11:41:09 PM Somebody correct me if I'm wrong. Those were made by ARE, and I doubt they're still in production. I had a set with a black mesh center (which now belong to Cougars2go) but they were 15". They were identical to this set: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/79-93-Ford-Mustang-GT-LX-4-Lug-ARE-Mesh-Saleen-Wheels_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ66481QQihZ018QQitemZ280184692476QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVWI loved the way they looked on my '88 XR7. enlighten me to what these wheels are Reply #5 – December 21, 2007, 06:08:29 PM Those are indeed ARE wheels, and they pull an arm and a leg in good shape. The Lincolns are either BBS or Speedlines depending on the year. Quote Selected
enlighten me to what these wheels are Reply #6 – December 21, 2007, 09:08:55 PM thanks guys. I was searching for who owned the Cougar on here, and I couldn't find it. Now I know. And now I know what wheels I'll be looking for. Whether I ever find any, don't know, but the search is part of the fun. Quote Selected
enlighten me to what these wheels are Reply #7 – December 22, 2007, 10:00:36 PM Quote from: HAVI;193787enlighten me to what these wheels are And where I can get some. They are 16" and have no markings on them indicating the manufacturer. Some knowledgeable folks say ARE so I'll go along with that. The rear wheels have different offset than the front. The spoke part of the rear wheels looks to be of a different texture than the front two wheels as well. I could very well indeed have two different brands of wheels that look identical but have different offset and texture. The texture difference is barely noticeable. I didn't realize it until 6 months after I bought them. The offset actually works out beautifully because it keeps the rear wheels about the same "flushness" with the quarter panel wheel well lip as the fronts have with the fender wheel well lip. There's a bunch of pictures of the wheels and cars at my Cardomain, it's the green '85 Cougar:http://www.cardomain.com/id/Cougars2go Quote Selected
