Official CJ08 Thread Reply #2 – December 08, 2007, 01:04:36 AM Does anyone know if there is something else going on that weekend? I was just looking for hotel rates and they're almost all booked. RRI has rooms but they are up to $74 for Fri and $92 for Saturday. Days Inn is booked and when I tried Microtel, the Boardman location didn't even show up.I'm going to go ahead and book at RRI, but dang! :-) Quote Selected
Official CJ08 Thread Reply #3 – December 08, 2007, 08:42:00 AM Hrmmm...the plan was to get a weekend where we can stand alone. I'm not aware of anything going on but if they're almost booked up, then obviously there's an issue.Kevin, can you check on the weekend of the 19-20th? Quote Selected
Official CJ08 Thread Reply #4 – December 08, 2007, 10:56:30 AM OK, I must have been half asleep when I checked on rooms last night, either that or the sites I checked were full of it (expedia, hotels.com & travelocity).I just checked with each hotel in the vicinity of RRI (RRI, Days Inn, Holiday Inn, Hampton, Fairfield & Microtel) and here's what I got.Note that I was checking for a two night stay with 2 adults, arriving Friday night, and, when a preference was needed, smoking room.Days Inn: Booked on both weekendsHoliday Inn: (11-13 = $108-$144) (18-20 = $117-$239)Hampton Inn: $119 on both weekendsResidence Inn: $199 on both weekendsRRI: Both weekends open, but looks like more rooms on 18-20 (rate is $75 Fri and $93 Sat. on both weekends)Microtel: I could not find a site that had anything for this. Even it's own site only listed a location in Grove City, PA. Did this motel close?[/B]Sorry about the mix up and "scare" last night! Like I said, I was checking with the "book online" sites, and I either was reading them wrong, or they were listing them wrong. Quote Selected
Official CJ08 Thread Reply #5 – December 08, 2007, 02:11:05 PM (Thanks for the update Kevin) and on either weekend you can count on us to be there. :D Quote Selected
Official CJ08 Thread Reply #6 – December 08, 2007, 04:20:52 PM Alright, cool, thanks for checking. If July 11-13th were going to be problems for hotel rooms then I had the option to move it back a weekend, but since it appears that there's availability then we'll keep it the same dates.Far as I know, Microtel is still there. I went by a few weeks ago and didn't notice anything unusual.Microtel7393 South AvenueYoungstown, OH 44512(330) 758-1816I also did not find anything on a website with this hotel. Strange. Cat Jam arrival times? Reply #7 – December 09, 2007, 10:05:28 PM Eric, what time do you guys and gals show up at the meet place on saturday.I'll be traveling up from the Columbus area and coming home the same day.I'd like to be there as early as possible to get the most from my roadtrip.I'll atleast have company,my brother and my cousin will probably ride up with me.(since my wife and daughters aren't that much into cars.)I realize it's kind of early to be asking this but i'm just trying to get an idea about planning this trip. Thanks,Dave Cruit Quote Selected

Official CJ08 Thread Reply #10 – December 10, 2007, 09:05:55 AM Since I'm here, I'll try to answer both your questions at once. If Eric shows later, he can chime in and if I have something wrong he can correct me. dcruit95cougar:QuoteEric,what time do you guys and gals show up at the meet place on saturday. On Saturday, we usually meet at Red Roof Inn at about 10:00 AM. We line up the cars, take some pictures/videos and have a little "caravan" meeting on getting to Mill Creek Park. Then we head out for the park between 10:30 and 11:00. We are at the park until about 4:30-5:00PM when we caravan back into Boardman for the Chili's car show which goes until around 8:30-9:00PM.Drewstang:QuoteWhere is Cat Jam and are T-birds invited? As mentioned, CJ is in Youngstown and Boardman Ohio. This means that the motels most everyone stays at are technically in Boardman, and the park is closer to Y-town (but they're all just basically suburbs of Y-town). T-birds have always been welcomed, but last year 'birds were made "official" entries (so to speak ). I've been to the last 3 CJ's and there have been at least 4-5 or more T-birds there every year.Hope to see you both there!! Quote Selected
