Hey some more cam fun November 21, 2007, 11:52:21 PM So this cam talk (thanks Paul ) has got me thinking about camming my 95 3.8 T-bird :hick: . Yeah I know I'm hey why not. So if you scroll down here: http://www.compcams.com/technical/Catalogs/106-07/56-61_230.pdf you'll see cams for the 3.8 V6. Any suggestions on something that would help boost low end torque? Don't say throw in a 5.0 either I already have my fun car. Quote Selected

Hey some more cam fun Reply #3 – November 22, 2007, 02:10:45 PM 96-97 headers, exhaust, under drive pulley, removed air silencer and K&N panel filter. That should help you out some. Quote Selected
Hey some more cam fun Reply #4 – November 22, 2007, 02:19:23 PM 44-702-9 would be my choice. Along with the goodies Shawn mentioned. Quote Selected
Hey some more cam fun Reply #5 – November 22, 2007, 02:34:46 PM arent 3.8 windstar intakes soppose to flow alot more air then stock stang plenums? might try that also Quote Selected
Hey some more cam fun Reply #6 – November 22, 2007, 02:47:00 PM Hood clearance would be an issue with the Windstar intake. A '99 up Mustang single port intake may work if it will line up with the heads. Otherwise you're talking a head swap. Quote Selected

Applies whether used singularly or in pairs... :burnout: Tom Quote Selected

Hey some more cam fun Reply #10 – November 23, 2007, 10:59:20 PM 44-701-9 gets my vote. 115 lobe centers. A replacement cam for the super coupe. The intake duration looks reasonable. It should pull hard. Quote Selected
Hey some more cam fun Reply #11 – November 24, 2007, 06:45:10 PM That actually may be a better choice, especially if you factor in budget constraints. It appears as though a spring upgrade is not required with the 44-701-9. Quote Selected
Hey some more cam fun Reply #12 – November 26, 2007, 09:02:03 PM I might try that one. After all it being a DD I really don't want to do a spring swap as well Quote Selected
Hey some more cam fun Reply #13 – November 27, 2007, 10:07:40 AM 44-700-9 should be a better cam than the 44-701-9 for a n/a application. It might have a slightly smaller duration, but the 112 degree lobe seperation should wake it up more than a cam designed for supercharged applications. Quote Selected
Hey some more cam fun Reply #14 – November 27, 2007, 06:30:43 PM The overall overlap is almost identical on the intake side between the two and with the higher LSA the other cam will be a coochcat in traffic around town IMHO. Quote Selected
