Excellent. Spelling and Grammar are just as important on the internet as they are in a text book. Only lazy fools think it's alright to ise (< that word is a good example) their language because "Its jus the intarweb".

wow, aren't we all just a bunch of smart guys ! you know what, tell them ricers "I might not be able to SPELL , but my car will burn you anyday of the week " .    Can we all agree on that ???? Thanks Jim Miller for finding the humor in all of this.  There's no replacement for displacement.  so says the blue oval god in heaven,    ALLMEN.

Thanks Jim Miller for finding the humor in all of this.

The way I spell I have to find the humor.
Years ago in grade school I flat out could not get "spelling". As far as I can recall I failed every spelling test we ever had (20 words every week) it was cracking under pressure (test :hick: ) as much as just couldn't get the whole "E before I except after Y" BS!  WTF is up with that? 1+1  ALWAYS =2  ... why can't the English language be the same?
My dad used to make me wright every one of the 20 words 100 times through out the week and still test day....F
One week the word GYM was on the test.. the teach decided to have a spelling bee where we had to go to the chalk board in front of the class (as if the TEST pressure wasn't enough) and spell a word she gave us. I got up there and she (I assume because she knew after 20-30 F's in a row) gave me the simplest word on the weekly list... she gave me "GYM", Piece of cake I wrote G Y M! THEN she has to go and instruct me to "Ok now before you turn around look at it close and sound it out"
BAH!! I knew THAT meant I had F'ed up  so I start sounding it out... well that first letter's wrong.. thats a J sound, so I change it, now I have J Y M
H#!! no that's not right.... sound it out... Nope.. wtf do I have a Y in there for? thats an "I" sound... so i change that.. J I M
Sound it out... YUP thats it.
and I had just written GYM 100 times the night before!!!
After that embarrassment there is NOTHING any of you can say about my spelling that will get to me. It was there I gave up.. took on this 'I'm never going to be able to spell, the English language sucks" attitude.
Laity however, with everything I have been trying to change for the better in my life I have been thinking, once things slow down, I may enroll in some night classes and revisit this English language BS, See if I can get it now... sort of a 'face my fears" kind of thing... Dunno.. maybe someday.

If it's any consolation I was always good at math.. Aced almost every test.. but 1+1 ALWAYS = 2.. logical, I can GET that.

Who cares. If people misspell a few words,it is NOT a big deal. It's just part of that individuals character and how they are.Everyone has weak points and strong points. In a forum setting, such as this,I would relate sometimes misspelled words as more of a slang than something horrible that some seem to think it is.Some people aren't good spellers.....so what?Criticizing and belittling isn't going to change their spelling habits.People whine too much over  that really doesn't matter one way or the other. There are much bigger things to tend to than a guy who misspells a word every once in a while. There,I've done my part for this thread.Feelin the love,Jimmy boy?

I don't see it as misspelling the word. The object is looooooosing. You're spelling how you would draw out the word if you were speaking it. I've done it here with the word so. As in I'm sooo bored I just read all of the rules of calling shotgun. Seriously, I read them all. :rollin:

We all misspell words now and then. But the people who do so on purpose make me want to grind their bones. Kids who learned to spell or use punctuation on MSN or AIM.

For the rest of us, there are spellcheckers. I don't think there's an excuse for not using a function that's already there.

Punctuation is harder to weed out, but when a person types out four paragraphs with nothing but the occasional string of periods to break it up, they deserve to be ridiculed. There's no way you can look at that, after typing it, and think all is well. ;)

I may not have used spaces after the periods, but we're talking about spelling, aren't we?Spaces after periods is a waste of perfectly good writing space, and I was always taught not to waste.

I have to chime in here. I am one of those people who can’t spell worth a lick. I have a genuine learning disability that lends it self to my ridiculously bad spelling. My situation sounds almost exactly like Jim Miller's problem. It’s a thing called dyslexia. I use spell check when ever possible but sometimes spell check doesn’t even help. Its pretty disheartening when your own computer doesn’t even know what your saying. I speak with class and elegance, and use $10 words all day. But normally come off like a baboon when I write. I misspell the simplest words.
Yet on the other hand, I have a friend who literally studies the dictionary. He always throws out his word of the day at me. Than asks with a pen 15y air about him, "oh do you know that word?"
He is then put back by the fact that I normally respond with  near Webster’s own definition. lol Although one time as a joke  said the definition of the word rebuke was to buke again! Lol

Oh and by the way, I’m still pissed that they made the word dyslexia such a hard word to spell!

Jim you write some of your posts in Word to spell check them first don't you?  With the Board theme I use some of the times your text shows up black where as everyone else's shows up white.
