i am needing to know for sure about ac eliminator kits so i can get momma mobile again. my cougar's ac compressor quit finally and i am thinkin i dont need ac anyhow in a street/strip (hopefully one day) car. i have searched and read and it seems that i need a power steering bracket but was hoping for an easier way since i not there to do it and dad works out of town. is there a kit that the pulley replaces the compressor and done deal?? i really hate asking but this is moms only transportation rite now even though she only drives it bout 6 miles round trip and the speed limit is 50 max but i dont like her not having wheels and i cant just go fix it cuz i am deployed. i just lookin for an easy swap that can be done. sorry if i have overlooked it somewhere in a previous thread. thanks for all yer help:bowdown:

Other than the eliminator kit that uses the Mustang pump bracket and raises the steering pump a few inches,there's a pulley kit (bracket with a pulley on it),but I believe it bolts to the Stang brackets as well,which,is different than our cars.Grab a Stang steering pump bracket and the eliminator kit and call it a day.

Easiest thing to do... go to a junkyard , get a compressor that spins nicely and swap them out.

You could short belt it a 76" belt should work for removing the ac,A 73" should work for ac and airpump delete.

This should also be something dad could find a few minutes to do or any old shop could do without a huge charge.

just an update for everyone and hopefully some info that helps others too...mom got the cougar running again with a 71 1/2" belt with this routing..

also compressor and smog pump still in place i will remove them wen i get home for less weight and cleaner look. mom says runs better than it has since i bought it now just need to get it a tune up and clean up throttle body.:burnout: :burnout: thanks again for the help and sorry i posted up even after finding the diagram i was just getting antsy being this far away from my car and it not running for momma:bowdown:
