1988 Mercury Cougar For Sale... October 06, 2007, 11:33:41 AM Hello all,My 1988 Mercury Cougar died on Thursday with blown head gaskets resulting in hydro-lock.The car was maintained extremely well. It had 84,144 Miles on it at the time the engine died. It would have cost me $3100 to get the engine rebuilt but I could not part with that much money mostly because I'm not mechanically gifted.I would love to sell this car to someone who is willing to take care of it.Specs1988 Mercury Cougar Limited Edition3.8L V6MLG: 84144Power Windows, Locks, MirrorsRed Interior with Wooden InlaysCosmetic / Misc. 1988 Mercury Cougar For Sale... Reply #4 – October 06, 2007, 02:51:33 PM Thanks. Believe me I'm upset about it because one thing I do not possess is the understanding of how cars work. I'm intimidated by them and keeping a 20 year old car is not worth the trouble I will have in the future.I love this car and want to see it end up with someone who cares about is as much as I cared about it.Please spread the word. 1988 Mercury Cougar For Sale... Reply #5 – October 06, 2007, 03:20:39 PM I will try and help you find a new owner for it. I also lack the knowing how to work on my car most of the time i just picked up a new cd player and gotta wait till my friend gets off work so he can hook it up for free. next week i am getting my exhaust redone and subframe connectors welded in and the rest of my gauges put in.i will see if i know anyone that wants it and would fix it up and take care of it.
