Bought another limo

This one is two feet longer than my charcoal-colored one.

Keep in mind, I haven't even washed it yet so you are seeing "raw" pictures here.  Should be in better shape by next summer.

Thanks folks.  I like Lincolns from the late 70s and Lincoln limos are everything a 70s Lincoln is and then some.

Here are some shots I took today with my cell phone camera of both of my limos. Click on each thumbnail to open a larger image:

looks good but I have to ask....  whats with you and limos?

I'll try to answer that but I'll start by quoting a few who know me:

When I showed her the first pics of the limo, like me, she wasn't quite surprised.  It's so you, man.

If it were anyone else, I'd be surprised.

And for my own attempt at explaining at least part of the reason behind the interest:

Limousines are the only type of car I can think of where it is just as enjoyable, if not, more, to be a passenger than a driver.  Most cars are enjoyed from the driver seat but since I'm always driving, I want my passengers to have equal, if not, more, enjoyment from the car than me.  It will be the first car I have ever had where that is possible.

That doesn't make much sense.  Hmm, ok, people for the most part always want to drive a car to really enjoy it.  Being a passenger is like being a kid and watching another kid play a video game when all you can do is watch.  It's cool sort of but it would be really cool if he handed you the controller.  Same with cars.  It's cool to ride in them but really cool to get a chance behind the wheel.

To me, limos are a little different.  My friends have all been asking, "so, when are you going to give me a ride in it," as opposed to "so, when are you going to let me drive it," which is what I got with the Miata and Tiburon.  Hell, the Viper guy doesn't rent out to passengers, he rents out to drivers.

Limos seem to be a type of car that people want to ride in instead of drive.  So in contrast to the Viper guy, limo owners rent out to passengers.

I don't need to enjoy the PS2 in the back but if I'm back there playing, I will still enjoy the car as much.  The first time I have owned a car where I am genuinely indifferent as to whether or not I drive.  Every other car, I have to be the driver.  So to answer your question, I would get the same enjoyment no matter where I was sitting.

These cars are enjoyed by non-car people as much as they are enjoyed by car people.  Classic limos can be taken to car shows and can offer "group fun" for all types of people outside the car show scene.

Thanks everyone. I've already been contacting a few places regarding interior restoration/updating/modifications.  I may end up taking it to Long Island but I'm still in conversation with that place and other places.
Any suggestions for interior ideas to give it a pimp/disco/70s party fun theme are welcome.

It's going to get 3" white walls next year.

Only two things come to mind when you say pimp/disco/70s party fun theme.  Shag carpeting, and a mirrored disco ball.
