Are we talking prototypes here, or actuall production cars? PPG would be rare, but how many were made and where the hell would you find one in the real world?

The PPG car would be just as legitimate as the convertibles, Elliott cars, or Bondurant Birds. It was sponsored by Ford, and the modifications were done before "delivery". There was only one. And it still exists:
2015 Mustang GT Premium - 5.0, 6-speed, Guard Green - too much awesome for one car

I stand corrected..... PPG FTW!

Are we going to go far enough here to break it down to rarest to each year or even generations ( 4 eye and later)?

Also, I know they're not Foxes, but how 'bout this:

Also not a Fox, and I don't have pictures, but what about that Bill Ford Jr '89 T-Bird that was for sale on eBay awhile back? Gotta be the only MN12 'Bird with wing windows...

Indeed it was. Bill Jr. had those installed at the factory, and it was the only MN12 to have it done... or so I read in the eBay auction listing.

LOL...yeah...until you see it.

"Special" (education) options on the only 20th convertible:

- Stand up gold hood ornament on the header panel (like the '83), with the emblem the exact same size as the emblem in the grille. Class.
- Thick gold pinstriping running the length of the car, broken only on the door with "SPECIAL EDITION" letters in what has to be the "classiest" font ever, Brush Script. Yes, it's "fancy"!

And the coup de gras:

- The Continental kit out back.

Now...do you still want it? ;)

Ewww on the Vert :hick:

Now the PPG, oh hell yes!!!

Didn't JFK Jr have a 87 TC that was on eBay? Med Red/moonroof like Layla but it had some sort of custom touch from Ford. IIRC it was a dead black interior... ?

Two different cars :D That 'Vert pic (note the lack of wing windows) was taken off Coolcats a few years ago, so Eric knows more about it than I do. I think it may have been made by the same company that made the 83-88 convertibles, and was actually considered for production.

The '89 wing-window (hard top) Bird I'm referring to was specially built for Bill Ford JR, and was the only MN12 ever released by Ford that had 'em. Apparently wing windows were considered for production so some concept doors and glass were made, but the idea got nixed. Billy Ford, who signed the paychecks at Ford back then, liked 'em, so they saved a set of the doors and put them on his car. He also had a custom interior, including a steering wheel with the initials BF instead of the SC that would have been in an SC wheel (the car was a base V6 Bird, though). The car sold on eBay within the past year, and IIRC, it went dirt cheap.

Here's the cool thing about the PPG car, Mike - it started out as a four-eye. It's based on an '84 Bird. You can clearly see that Ford used some ideas from that car for the 87-88, though (most notably, flush glass)
