Went to the track

I took my 83 out to the track tonight in hopes of getting some better times. I left it just like it was last time i went that it ran the 14.3 other than a fresh tuneup. Everything was the same, and still on green top injectors and i have not touched the boost valve. It was screamin hot out and really humid. I put the Hoosiers at 18psi launched around 5K and it went a 14.08@93.81mph with a 1.86 60'. That was the best of three passes and was backed up by an 14.1.It was shifting it at 5200rpms. I was happy with what it did, I am just really pushing for the 13.99 second slip now :D If only the weather was nice ;)  I may need updated on the list too ;)
  Stay tuned!!

...I am having issues with my scan of the slip. i will mess around with that tomorrow...

Yeah, I'm there every week for points. Broke the shaft on another T3turbo. Car launched good, just about the 330 mark it sputtered a little, then I got rid of every mosquito for about a square mile as I smoked the place out. Ate a wheel and my compressor housing. Someone here got a picture of it in my pit (sorry, didnt catch your user name on here, but it was nice meeting you and your Dad!).

Moved my number over to my truck, only got one time trial with it, ended up breaking out by .01 on the brakes at the stripe. That was a perfect ending to a misreable day for me.

did i read your cardomain right?  you're going that fast with basically an exhaust and a boost controller and some sticky tires?!!?!  that's amazing.  i've never seen one go that fast on so little.

You said "A" turbo, lol, I have a collection of them like that ;) 25 psi , WOT shifts, junkyard turbo's. That one was put together from three others. I've broke two shafts like that this year.

That pass I left off the rev limiter (6600 rpm), made into third before it broke. It was FUN while it lasted :)

It also has a small front mount. I tell people all the time, with these 2.3's, its all about the tune and the DETAILS. We will put that car into the 13's on 30# green tops, then turn it up with my PE and hang on. My TC was so stock it was rediculous, ran low 13's at 103-105 all the time bracket racing. Put the same combo in my Capri and it went 12.50's at 111 all day long. I've sure found the limits of the T3 here lately ;), its about a tenth and a mph lower than what I'm trying to run :D

Bob Myers < - Will tune for turbo's ;)
