What can I do to get the most out of my EFI on '88 TBird 5.0? I want it to run but also like to drive it around town.

Simple cheap mods or serious engine work?  The latter will almost always necessitate the switch over to a mass air system.  Otherwise your limited to bolt-ons.

Got another 5.0 motor thinking of carburating it. I intend on building the motor to make it a street racer and was getting ideas on which way will be the best, EFI or carb. I know EFIs can be a handful at times and carbs are a bit more tweak friendly.

tweak friendly for those who don't have access to a Tweecer or know how to mess with the computer. but that usually is only necessary when you have forced induction or something major. the mass air system will take a H/C/I swap no problem, but it's usually a good idea to get it tuned when you do such mods

EFI is only tough if you're converting a car TO EFI, otherwise it's relatively simple.

PS - Street racing is dumb, aside from shwoing a few ricers up now and then, it's a bad habit to get into.  You can lose your license pretty quck too.

Our street racing is done at Bristol Mortor Speedway. We have drags, burnout contests, slowest time contest. Anybody can enter. I've seen everything from GEOs to 3/4 ton pickups. Its quite fun.

Ahh, I stand corrected.  By street racing I thought you meant it took place on public streets. Just street rod sort of thing... street/strip cars I take it.
