That's pretty  cool.  I always wondered if the NE Cougar wheels would fit.  That's a nice looking, cheap, 16-inch wheels for our cars.  Thanks for taking that pic!

I think the New Edge/Contour bolt pattern of 108mm is almost dead-on with our 4x4-1/4" bolt pattern. The hub and offset....ya got me. Any machine shop can enlarge the hub section if needed (FWD cars typically have a smaller hub) so there's a fix. I would be more worried about the offset. But hey, a tape measure and some time will unlock that secret.

I remember one time when I was rotating the tires on my mom's Focus, I used an extra wheel from my Fox LTD in leiu of jackstands and the wheel stuck out some.  So, it stands to reason that maybe the New Cougar/Focus wheels sit in a little bit.

And PS - earlier Conti's were foxes, but they were RWD.  Once the Conti was FWD it was no longer a Fox.

The 82 or 83 to 87 Continental was Fox based (early Mark VII models were a version of the Continental, which is where the hump came from. I think they dropped Contintntal from the Mark name in 85 or 86). Another 5-lug axle swap candidate...

The 88-99 (or whenever they discontinued the Conti) was Taurus based. The 88-94 versions even look kinda like a Sable with longer rear doors

Really cool rims with the same front wheel drive 4 bolt patterns are the svt contour 5 stars and the svt focus 5 stars, and yes they do fit but they usally go for a mint when up for sale.
I new a guy once when i worked at ford that put focus rims on his xr4ti,looked alot better than stock and worked just fine.
My wife's got an 87 topaz (same bolt pattern) and for her summer wheels i installed one of my extra sets of 10hole mustang rims with 205/60/15s on them, looks alot better than the stock steels.
They fit prettyy good but i had to roll the rear 1?4 panel lips to adjust for the wider tires.

Hrmmm...looks like an '83 Heritage.  Not something you see everyday.

BTW, the Fox did not start as a FWD platform even in concepts....the modified MacPhersons were used because they were cheap and a lighter package than the normal fare, and offered more room in the engine bay over other types.  There was also no cheap way any of their available power-plants were going to ever work in a FWD application.  The Fox platform started as a RWD economy chassis....

I can't believe that car!
Keyless entry
Digital dash
Dual power seats
Factory alarm with light in console
Vent windows

I'm surprised it doesn't have the sunroof. What a nice car...
