Rare trunk lid?

I was describing this trunk lid to people at CJ last night, really no one had ever heard of or seen one of them, so I thought that I would post some pics for everyone to enjoy. It has the continental spare tire hump in it. (in case you can't tell from the pics.)

Definitely not a Mark VII lid - unless it's been seriously modified...

It was the ThunderFalconBirdMarkVII.
I -think- I saw one around Canton or Livonia Michigan about 85-86. It is for a four-eye, right? I had just begun admiring the Cats-Birds-Lincolns then but I'm pretty sure I saw a Bird with this decklid.
Any details?

***There were a few companies offering modified trunklids for the 1983-86 Cougars that had the identical half-round hump found on the Lincoln Mark VII. Different, if anything. I've also seen them on newer Continentals, Town Cars, and the Grand Marquis. Someone is still producing them, and in fact may have done the ones for our cars.

All I know about it is it came on my ’83 when I bought it, and it is made of fiberglass, and extremely light. You can pretty much tuck it under one arm and walk around with it.

The steel ones are light as heck too. Slap a magnet on there...

There was a trunklid identical to that at Carlisle a few years ago. Interestingly, I've seen aftermarket trunklids on Mark VII's without the factory hump. It looks much better. :flame:

Where Ric got his sunroof in '85 (Roman Chariot in Cleveland), they were selling the steel versions of this humpy lid for our cars. So humpy lids could be either steel or fiberglass...no real way to tell the difference at a glace, just have to thump it to find out.
