Texas Cat-O-Van

Well, the Texas Cat-O-Van is heading out, in about an hour! I hope to arrive to the Red Roof in Boardman sometime Thursday afternoon. (When you have to drive this far, you need to plan on arriving a little earlier! :hick:  ) If anyone else happens to arrive early, feel free to call my room (ask for Royce Moyer). I may be off somewhere trying to clean this dirty car though.

Got the '97 in good shape mechanically (fingers crossed) for the trip.

Bringing my mom and sister this year. Don't know how much they will hang around during all of this "car stuff, though! ;)  The three of us are planning on checking out the Niagra Fall area for a couple of days after the Jam before heading back home.

Come to the Canadian Side, that's where the party is!

Royce, if you haven't been to Niagra Falls, you must hit the Canadian side. It's a lot nicer than the U.S. side.
Have a safe trip.

I am home, finally! That's right - just got home a few hours ago.

After the 'Jam, I headed on up to Niagra with mom & sis to check out the Falls. Spent a couple days on the Canadian side doing all the touristy things. The ride out on the Maid of the Mist boat was the best.

Got to have dinner with Baxo at his "favorite" restaurant in his hometown which was not too far away. AND I convinced him to show me his convertible in progress. It is definitely in progress. I am sworn to secrecy about any details, however. ;)  It's gunna be sweet.

After Niagra, we took the long way home and spent a night near Hershey, PA, and spent one morning at Chocolate World - took a fake "tour" ride of the factory - kinda like a Disney World ride. It was cute (and free). Stocked up on various Hershey Kisses, and am now sick of eating chocolate!:yuck: (for a little while anyway).

Next, a night visiting relatives on my dad's side in Atlanta that I had never met before. That was nice. Then a night with a relative in Louisianna, and finally back home today.

I did not keep up with the milage exactly, but it is probably somewhere around 3,500 (maybe a little more) miles in 12 days. I did figure out the gas milage I was getting the last couple of days. It was between 24-25 mpg. Not bad considering Xena was carring 3 adults at around 70 mph most of the time, and EVERY square in of trunk space was crammed full!

That's pretty cool, you passed near my old house.  I lived near York, PA, a little south of Hershey.
