Cup Holder???

What's the deal with this:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/83-89-FORD-THUNDERBIRD-DUAL-CUP-HOLDER-RARE-MINT_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ6763QQihZ003QQitemZ130134024843QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW

Does it fit in the console area with the lid open or something?
Or is it just bogus...

*EDIT
Seller changed the title from "83-89 Thunderbirds".

Someone's got the wrong years in there.  That might be a later '89+ piece, but it isn't for our cars.

Yes that is for the 89 and later cars and it is a PITA when you try and use it. Puts your drink right under your elbow.

Like I've always said. A vehicle performance is based on the number of cup holder. Why do you think my van has 12 cup holder in it?

i got 2 cup holders in my car that works perfect.  they got that heat/cold shield inside them which keeps it hot or cold, your choice, and there were no modifications.  basically..  it hangs between the door and the int door panel.  they came with the car, prolly an autozone deal.  they work great, although some large drinks seem like they would or want to flip over while driving, but i've put them through thier paces and i've never had one flip, even with hard accel and hard decell and left and rights that make my cell phone fly from my lap to the pass side between the door and seat.  one problem though, i have to put a little bit of trash in the bottom of them b/c otherwise it swollows a soda can and its a bitch driving 85-90 trying to get the can out.  they do make the door panel seem to peel away from the door... but they've been in there since before it was 60K miles on it.
