Should be the same in the rear, the only issue you might have is in the dash. I had an issue where my dash plugs were '83-'86 style but the rears were '87-'88. But if you are just doing the doors and rear deck, they should be fine. I'm sure someone else can chime in and either confirm or deny that.

this is what i did

I put in an after market stero and wired it in seperatly from the stock wiring system. To get the wiring through the door jam area i used a wire hanger and pulled it through. If that is too hard just cut off the clips then use a female connector with the 2 greens together and the 2 other ones together then that goes onto the speaker ports. Simple as it may sound its still a challange.

I finally found some Pioneers to match my deck.

I still can't find those adapter clips though. The guy at the audio store said that they no longer make them, he also said that I could wire the speakers up by splicing the wires. Not running new wires just using the pre-existing wires. From what I got from him I know this:

The orange is postive, the blue is negative.

And thats it, he didn't tell me what to do with the other blue and orange wires. I don't know if this will work, and I really hate running wire. Thats why I paid 60 bucks to get my amp wired.

The speakers came with these really cool grills but I don't want to cut holes in the already Premium Sound grills so I'm just gonna throw them in. Also, should I use the plastic speaker housing thing that my stock speakers were in or just screw in these new ones without them?

as for wiring, even when i traced the speaker wires, i still had to run the wire with clothes hangers and such. for some reason the stock wire just dint work, and there were no severed wires and they werent put on backwards or anything. it was the weirdest thing i've ever run into. took me about a week to get it done between work and school. (total 3 hour job) so i know the pain of not wanting to run wire, but some times its worth it. i replaced it with way better wire and the sound quality picked up 150% easy. i'd just screw your new ones in without those grills that came with it and toss the buckets. some people might say without them you'll get a rattle, but if you can put them in tight enough it should work fine. i found that in other cars people would use a bit of hot glue, let it set and it'd completely stop any rattle issue they had. BUT its your car, experiment, if you get a rattle without the buckets, try it with the buckets... etc etc.

But if I were to run the wire how would I find out which one is connected to the H.U.? And wouldn't you have to tear up the dash just to run the wire?

well my car didnt have premium sound, so i didnt have to worry about those dash speakers. as for the dash, when you drop the glove box all the way down, you'll see the hvac shroud. you have about an inch between the side of the interior metal and that shroud.. thats the bitch. but what i did was took a clothes hanger, snipped off the "wiggly end" and made a "loop" that was completed with tape. i then ran the wire from the door through the wire boot, and dug in that little space for about 30 minutes and got the loop end through. then i put the speaker wire through the loop and made a loop with the wire, then it only took pulling the clothes hanger wire back out through the boot. that was the easiest part. on the drivers side you have much more room to work with so its way easier to get through the boot and repeat the process. as for running the wire, if you stick your head under the pass side of the dash theres a "mesh grill" type deal and i just wove the wires through that, and on the driver side i just tucked it into the dash above driver's feet. when i ran the wire to the back speakers i removed the moulding around the quarter window (inside) and then removed the arm rest. then the bottom of the back seat. it takes a star type head which i'd size up to a half inch size to get the back of the back seat out. didnt have it so i just poked the same hanger wire through the plastic and repeated the same way of pulling the wire through. i then tucked all the wires under the door sill and behind the arm rest section of the back trim. no wires are visible and i again wove the wires (zip ties work great) in that grate thats unseen under the pass dash. again no wires are visible. it sounds kinda complicated but the only complicated part is getting the hanger through the boots and behind the back seat. if you can remove the back seat totally you'll save a good 90 min of messin around and such. i know it prolly seems kinda ghetto but it works great b/c no wires are visible, no wires "fall out" of place, and it ended up with better thicker speaker wire. if you go to autozone they should have speaker wire spools and it took 2 for my installation well 1 1/2 of the spools. the easiest way to know which is ground and which is hot is predetermine a color code. i used different colors of electrical tape to designate which was the ground and which is hot. as for getting it behind the dash theres PLENTY of room, its WIDE open behind where the HU goes. the wire i used was clear coated and the 2 wires were different metals. aluminum and brass. brass for hot, aluminum for ground. almost idiot proof. with the harness all saudered together and what not you'll have a rats nest of wires so watch out when you go to put the HU in, b/c the first time i was so frustraited and what not with cuts on my hands (shoulda used my mechanix gloves) i cramed it all in there and it pulled the wire from the lighter. so make sure the wires dont get cramed in there pushing on other wires. another ghetto trick i had to do was the ground. i couldnt find the right size screw (even at radio shack) so i just wrapped the screw in that aluminum tape (wally world has it) and basically widened the screw, to my suprise it worked way better than i thought and has stood up since december with no problems. if you get any error codes from the HU just read the manual and source the problem out. on a side note, i'd say that if you had speakers in the dash you prolly would have to take the dash apart to get to them b/c i have the grills for them but i cant find a way to get to them (thought about putting tweets in there) its tricky but easy. and thats how to rewire 4 speakers with the least amount of money. :hick:

It seems with the money and custom work I'm putting into this car I should just keep it and never sell it. :D

If you do sell it, you'll be lucky to get out of it what you paid for it... let alone what you put into it
