Well I took off my door panel to replace the blown speaker only to find this weird clip thing.

Anyway, how would I put aftermarket speakers in with this cable?

Go to best buy.. They sell an adapter.

The closest Best Buy is 2 and a half hours away.

Would an audio store sell them?

Yes, or try AutoZone or Advanced Auto Parts. I think they typically have them in stock.

You know what is funny, my car has "premium sound" on the door speaker grills... but there is absolutely no wiring for door speakers that I could find. Also no EQ. Is that normal?

Possible, he left his 6 year old pioneer cd player in it, and the only speaker that was in it was a stock one in the rear deck. He had a pretty big pair of subs in the trunk he took though. So who knows.

Yeah, theres a pair of fat RCA's, a big fat power wire and a turn-on signal wire running to the trunk.

Im pretty sure he was all about the bass and not about sound quality though... I could be wrong. He coulda had it loaded up with speakers and just took them out.

No ground? That signal wire should be the remote I'm 99999999.999999% sure of this.

I do believe with that plug you had the factory system that has the speakers in the doors & speakers in the dash. I know my 84 was this way. I didn't even think there was speakers in the dash but when I disconect the door speakers there is sound from the dash. The 84 doesn't have the grills like the 85-88 cars do. I've also run into some Mark 7's that were this way. Also my 84 premium sound was 6speaker setup with a nice for 84 tape AM/FM cassette deck, also has the 84 amp with the switch below the radio for the amp on/off and the Power anttena up/down. No EQ that I know of the new cars I'm sure were different I know I've been in 3 87-88 T/c's that have a factory EQ in them.

The signal wire is for remote. And there was a ground, but he cut it to about 3 inches, and I removed it.

Okay, I went to every audio store in the city and to no avail they do not carry the adapter clip.

Does anyone know which brand makes it? Or even know the model number of the part?

Also since I have my drivers door apart is the solenoid that works the lock supposed to be lose? Its just hanging there, no rivets or anything.

But, another question (I'm full of them). Would I have to a buy similar adapter for the rear deck speakers?
