'88 XR-7, MD, Not mine

Spotted this '88 on the way to a cruise tonight.

Location: Abingdon, MD 21009
Price: $750obo

Details--
Original oxford white paint and it still has the factory striping with no dents.
Blue cloth interior
Options that I see: Power moonroof, Power driver's seat, Cruise, Leather wrapped steering wheel, Premium Sound with eq (still in tact), ATC, power antenna, and the light group.

It has the buttstuffog cluster but with the poor lighting I couldn't make out the mileage.

The body is free of any dents, just some scratches and some small paint pen type touch-ups. It looks like it would shine up well with a thorough cleaning. The underside looks to be good and free of rust.

The interior is pretty clean, just needs to be gone through. No tears or wear on the seats. They all look great and unstained. It does have the standard chipping on the center console plate. I have a picture of the interior but it came out lousy so I'm not posting it.

Problem areas - Standard yellowed headlights and cracked dash. Missing one Cougar center cap and molding around left front cornering light. The lower spoiler on the front bumper has seen its fair share of curbs so it's hanging on only by a couple clips. There is visible rust on both rear quarter panels, side rockers and the bottom of the passenger door. The worst appears to be the passenger rear lower quarter where a patch panel may be required to fully stop and prevent further spread of the rust there.

It appears as if it would make a decent easy fix project or a quick easy daily driver. It is an unmolested original.

Thanks for trying to find a home here for that cat.  That is a nice Cougar.  Really hope someone here can snag it.  If someone has the space, and can get it for a little less, it would be worth it just to get it in the community.  I'm maxed out on cars/space already doing what I can to help the Cougars and members here.  Once I get moved to the new place, I will have more room.

I'm working my way into doing the same in hopefully less than two years. I'm tired of seeing some of these going so cheap, with no paved room for more myself. I have had the chance for a few localy, but no money or room for the moment. I even have access to a trailer to hook up to my truck. I just called a guy back today with a very nice 87' a freind told me about. V-6 LS Car was solid enough for me to NOT want to part it out. It has fuel delivery related issues. Solid body and perfect interior. I just couldn't swing the $500 for it. AAAAAARGH If I had the cash I'd go get it myself. I hope someone pics this up. I think these cars look nice in white.

any idea how far away Abingdon is from the frederick/damascus area? i dont know where that is or how far away from me it is. if its close, i may think about it, but if its far away, i dont need it that bad. one 88 xr-7 is fine for me...twos better though.

Love to help you out but I don't have the space for another car in my driveway.

If you want, I can give you the owners number and you can find out all the stuff about the car that I don't know and maybe they could hold it for ya.

Believe me, I'd love to go grab it for someone but can't. If I could do that, I'd probably pick it up for myself ;)
