i'm wondering if the TRQ converter isn't all screwed up,

have you tryed pulling the car in any thing that isn't park ?? with the car off,..

Or maybe the cable is broke to the trans,

Manual or auto ?? motor size, car type ?? need some info !!

If you can't turn the rear wheels with them both off the ground, the rear end could be jammed up. Or the parking brakes are on.

Even with the parking brake on if he stepped on the gas it should lunge ahead some.  If you have an open diff, your right side axle may be shot.

the transmission is a automatic c3 or some kind of c5 ,the motor is a stock v6 for now. theres just a little play in the rear end when using my hands to spin the tires. so what does it mean if the driveshaft doesnt move in any gear? i need to figure what could be wrong before next wednesday when i have to take it to a transmission shop.

well if the trans is in nutrual and you can get a good enough grip on the driveshaft try to rotate it if it does nto rotate disconnect it from the rear end and try again in nutral... then id say somethings up with the transmission if it wont turn in nutral but i aint much of an automatic person.

check the trans cable and linkage on the column or floor shifter. then check the linkage on the trans. then unhook the trans linkage and manually move the lever. if it doesn't move or moves very easy then you have to pull the valve body to check it further. it really sounds worse than it is. good luck

hey guys i figured it out it was the input shaft inside the transmission it was warped and the housing that it goes in was split in half. also its a c5. so i just bought a brand new transmission.

you may wanna back up a few hundred steps and find out why that happened if your reusing any part of our old drive shaft from the yoke on back.

splitting the tailshaft housing is pretty rare and ive never seen it happen before.  Maybe you can inspect the underside for damage that points to someone must have drove over something.

nevertheless, double check your DS for counter wieghts and such incase they fell off.  Even with no counter weights, that would cause only vibration.
