Ok, now the DD is just testing my patience. Better now

I gotta get something that wont break on me. First a side tank on the radiator cracked, that was an easy hour fix by myself and $150 to fix. Now the intake leaks. I have the gaskets, because with 127,xxx miles its bound to need them. But no, I tried with no luck to replace them, way too much wiring and things for me to forget to plug in. So I get an estimate at the shop I work at. They said $400+. A friend priced it a month ago for $400 and that was including cost of parts. I get a discount, plus I have parts, and they are the same exact models, years, engines...So now Im pissed. Since it was my Bday, I decided my Bday money would go to a nice headunit for the truck. A brand new Pioneer DEH-P5900IB. Cost me a good chunk of money, and after a bunch of hassle with the plastic install kit, I finally got it in and working. I love this thing!! Wiring took 10 minutes with heatshrink crimps, and all I did was break one of the side clips I needed on that install piece. Well I pull it out of the garage with the intake still leaking.....NO FREAKING DASH LIGHTS......This truck is killing me. Oh and a Service Engine Soon light. WTF!!!. Im taking it to work with me and having the service manager look at it. Im fed up with this  thing.

To boot, the clutch went out on the fan in the Cougar, so the mechanical fan runs non stop and I can literally hear the clutch grinding and popping.

i need a daily driver bad, but i honestly cant get the money to replace the bird i got.  i can barely keep it in one piece let alone sell it like that.  dont get me wrong, its a very good daily driver... but the brakes are already to the warning tooth, which means by the time i get the money to repaire the brakes its ganna end up meaning i have to replace the calipers due to caliper to rotor contact.  the right rear tailight is working loose, and not only that but i got shiznitty tires on it that i dont have the money to fix.  i got 195/75b 14's on the front and 205/70r 15's on the back.  now, the front end has grip, if you can call a push grip.  not only that but the tred is that of that old hotrod rian slicks from the 70's pattern.  the rears?  wear bars?  they're wore down past the beginning of the wear bars.  the right front is toed out so with the skinnies it likes to wonder around if the aero of the car didnt cause that already.

whats really sad?  im ganna prolly lose 4 jobs b/c the cars ganna break down and i wont be able to go into work...  i mean what would i ask my employer for, an advance on my paycheck so i can fix my car?  pfft.  not only that but its also gotta get me to college... it breaks down, i lose class time, i get shiznitty grades.  btw, the biasply tires on the front came from a 67 nova... they have cracks in the sidewalls etc... and im almost conviced its a late 70's tire.

sorry for hyjacking your thread, but i had to get that out... dont you hate it when you cant win for losing? >>.<<

Thats the way I feel, except its with two cars. There is no end to it. I work my ass off at a minimum wage job. It is giving me experience for my career but I cant fix my cars while making no money. This thing nickel and dimes me to death. Im so sick of it.

Today was better. Turned out the headlight switch is fried. Blew a fuse and the switch was bad and fried. Went to a local mechanic, he will replace my intake gaskets for $160, waaaay better than $400 like the service manager at work told me. Im also getting the front end aligned(driver side wheel is toed in really bad), and new ball joints. I have a few other parts waiting for it, they are just stock replacement. Im gonna remove the fan on the Cougar and just bolt it back without the clutch, I really dont want to buy a radiator or hood for it.
