Crossing my fingers... May 30, 2007, 09:56:27 PM ...and my toes...and my ears..and...oh, wait...I had my T-Bird repainted in 1996 at a local body shop. The clearcoat had gotten pretty bad of late, and I took it back to see what my options were (repaint? buffing?). The shop is family-owned, and the brother and sister working there actually remembered painting the car the last time. Within the first minute of looking at it the guy said, "hey, you know, this paint should be guaranteed. You shouldn't have to pay to repaint it again."Huh?Apparently the paint shop they use guarantees the paint, and there's allegedly no time limit. Only one glitch, though: I had the receipt all the materials from last time (and they rememembered painting it), but the secretary who wrote the receipt only wrote "repairs as agreed" instead of explicitly pointing out that the entire car had been repainted. They're going to get the paint rep to look at it since they claim there are chemical markers that would identify the paint as theirs. So, here's hoping... Quote Selected
