Mine still needs to be converted to r134 and charged.

Absolutely! After we finished the holset swap on the TC, my buddy commented how much easier it would be to fab up a CAI to the holset if I removed the a/c compressor. Ummmmmm.....no. Black car+West Texas= mobile oven :flame:

A/C whats that? ohh that thing that sits above my P/S pump but doesnt do a 'd thing? i just pulled the condenser out of my 88 an after i put it in my car i will try and get it charged with the new . my dad does can do it i just dont know if i have a leak in my condenser. well see

I so want my A/C to work but alas no money for the parts. To me it is a luxury. 270 is just fine for the moment!

Thats why you have a vaccume pulled on the system to check for leaks :D

Sometimes (especially on long highway trips) I wish I wouldn't have ditched my AC when I got the car. But, oh well. It was completely discharged when I removed it so probably had a huge leak somewhere.

First thing I did to my car when I bought it was fix the A/C. The car only had 47k miles on it but it needed all new lines and a condenser. Now it needs a compressor (still works but is noisy). I'll fix that too - even though it's only necessary three months of the year, I've gotta have my A/C

I had mine charged when I pulled it out of storage 2 years ago. Within 3 weeks it had leaked completely down. I had the seals replaced, but Im debating whether or not I want it. I know Im going to rebuild the engine, and when I do cruize I always have the windows down, so its no big deal if I dont have it, plus I have two cars that do, so IF I had to have the comfort the other two are just fine.

I've had A/c for 2 summers and this will be the 3rd. Not to bust your chops but it is really easy. Mine is all old parts with a new dryer, and O-rings. I flush everything with A/c system flush then install all new O-rings and the R134a fittings. Had a buddy come over and pressurize the system with Nitogen to pressure test it. Then we put in the R134a. I wish I would have put in the Adjustable orifce tube. But I didn't the A/c works great. So I say stop bitchin and start working then you could have A/c too! I know everyone says use new parts when doing the A/c, But I'm to poor for that. Even my buddy that is certified tells me that buying all new is just to make them some money most of the time.
