Lord of The Rings Online is everything you'd expect it to be. I haven't logged onto WoW since Sunday, when I bought the game.

Graphics are incredible, but that's only half the reason to play this game. If you are fans of the books, this will fill every void left by the movies. I've been running around for a week and still haven't seen the entire Shire. If it's in the books you'll find it, and you will be rewarded for looking.

They also have done a great job of integrating the storyline of the trilogy into the quests. I've even been given a quest by the ol' Gaffer (Gamgee) himself!

Anyway, here are some screenshots. One of the incredible 'Ultra High' res. and the other of the 'Very Low' res., which I have to run my home computer at (512 and severe lag issues in crowded areas are forcing me to cut back my visual experience ).

Wow you need to upgrade your comp badly!  newegg.com is your friend :D .  But sounds like a good game.

Not for the first month. ;) Anything like this is going to require a subscription. There is a free major content update (called books) coming in June that parallels you with Aragorn searching for a missing jewel from Narsil (Ss of Evendim). They can't keep developing a game for free, so subs are necessary.

After reading a review, I found that there was a server wide final battle for the Beta. Every player was called to meet at specific places where there was a bombardment of Mordor (Angmar actually) forces that just kept coming. An epic battle in Middle Earth, and you got to be part of it. For fantasy readers there could be nothing cooler.

It's $15 a month after that, or $190 for life.

You probably need a new graphics card too.  A $100 7600GT would help greatly.  :)

And a major battle?  SWEET!  I wish my 7900GT wasnt acting up, or I'd have to try it out.

I have a Radeon Xpress 200 IGP (PCI Express). I shouldn't be having that much of a problem (x850 is what they recommend). 512MB is the bottom line requirement for the game, and my 64 Athlon is only 2.0GHz (1.8 is the min. with 2.8 recommended). I'm going to start with some memory and then think about upgrading my VC.

Also consider the fact that I'm in rural Nova Scotia and lucky to have High-speed at all. I'm sure my connection isn't lightning fast, which would explain why crowded environments cause so much lag.

Still worth it, though. It's like Turbine picked my name out of a hat and decided to make me a game. :P

Who's your high speed through? Is it wireless? That's the only option here, and there just happens to be a big hill between me and the tower...

Oh, and you're all nerds...

I'm proud to be a nerd.  A computer nerd and a car nerd at that! :dunce:

Eeeww, a radeon X200?  Yeah thats REALLY weak.  It's a shame you dont have AGP because my perfectly good 6600GT is sitting downstairs.  Maybe you would like my semi-faulty 7900GT when I replace it?  It artifacts a little bit but it would run games a million times better.

It came with my refurbished PC. :hick: I live with it. I'm keeping an eye on Tiger Direct, but PCI X needs to come down a ways in price before I can think about a serious card.

With fewer people online yesterday, I was able to bump up the graphics and run around all day. Much better this way. Anyway, more screenshots for you lot. :hick:
