Dash to trunk RCA cable length?

Whats the shortest length of rca cables that can be used in these cars? Both lengths down the middle and down the passenger side? I have 17' in there now, down the side, but not sure if getting better 13' ones would work.

There's many "used" (still in package) ones for sale on forums...most of the time 13', but for half or less the retail price. I have a bunch of slack in the trunk also, possibly enough to reach the rear of the trunk but can't check this moment (may have just been the remote lead that was too long).

I think I used 12-footers in mine. They run down the passenger side under the carpet

Pictures?

I've been using two pairs (need 3 total) of some rca's that came in a wiring kit (scosche I think) and a radioshack gold rca (hard to unplug, potential to damage amp when disconnected) from my home theater for awhile now. Want to go matching on all three, along with something thats actually shielded. Swapping equipment around so now's the time to do it 100% right.

I got a 50' set for the 96 bird. But then again I had to run it all crazy to get it to the trunk. Theres maybe about 3 foot extra in ther trunk after I ran it.

50 feet sounds like motor home, not car, wow lol.

My cars PO left a big fat pair of RCA's and a big fat power cable as well as a remote wire in my car. Not sure how long they are but theyll reach to the middle of the trunk.

No I am serious. I had to route the thing around all kinds of  under the dash. Then along the door sill. Under the rear seat. follow the contour of the outside edge of the trunk and around to the middle of the trunk opening. I trid to hide them the best I could. Thats what took up all the extra wire.

My 88 Cougar I think I used a 12' I ran it straight down the drive shaft tunnel.

25 or 30' wasn't enough? 50' is enough to zigzag in between everything in the car, to end up with only a couple feet left at the trunk. I'm assuming you have no serious noise issues, but I'm sure there's a bunch there. That's a lot of wire to pick up interference and have a lot of voltage drop by the time it hits the trunk. As long as it works and you're happy with the sound (probably still better than stock), thats all that matters ;)

I'm really hoping to replace my JL e6450 with an Eclipse XA4000 or Alpine PDX 4.150 sometime soon. The JL's got like 30% efficiency! Don't need 6 channels anymore either, ditched the rear deck speakers.
