I'll give you the nose. The Camaro needs something other than that S**t-eating-grin grille, but the rest of the car has perfect proportions, and looks deadly. I can't understand why they put a big smiley face on the snout. That's not retro (and the Cat-eyes are ugly too. Chevy hasn't made a good looking truck since '87).

DaBoss: After the Omni-based Chargers of the 80's nothing, and I mean NOTHING, could disgrace the Charger name. So it's got four doors - so what? It's got a V8, it's RWD, and it's cheap. And given Chrysler's legendary resale values, we'll all be able to buy one in five years for $500 :p The same pretty much applies to the Challenger - this is a name that was once applied to a Mitsubishi. Of course Ford tainted the Mustang name with the 74-78 Pintang - about the only one of these cars that has never been ized was the Camaro. Sure, it had some dismal performance years, but when compared to other cars year-for-year it stayed true to its roots for its entire production run. Never an economy car, never a FWD econopoopster, never a re-branded import. Always a Camaro.

I actually like the forthcoming Camaro and Challenger. They are nice looking cars promising very good performance and showing their heritage. Funny, though, how the Chev guys that shiznit all over Ford for going retro with the Mustang are drooling all over the every-bit-as-retro Camaro. It'll be interesting to see where the Camaro compares price-wise, though, with its IRS. The Challenger has the advantage of being built on an already mass produced platform, while the Mustang brings a stick axle to the table. The Camaro's platform will eventually be spread across a few models, but upfront it will be at a big price disadvantage. Of course both GM and DC have the advantage of cheaper-to-manufacture pushrod engines, but the 4.6 is produced in huge numbers (trucks, SUV's, Crown Vics, Mustangs) which bring its cost per unit down a whole bunch.

Whatever happens, the next few years look to be exciting for car guys. 4-cylinders are making more power than V8's did just a decade ago, V6's are generating 250-300 horsepower in mainstream family cars, and V8's are making more power than the legendary big blocks of the so-called muscle car era. And they're doing it with squeaky-clean tailpipe emissions, decent fuel economy, and a full load of creature comforts. THIS is the golden age of muscle cars

I also said I'm not sure the GT500KR will be worth the extra money over a "regular" GT500.  Styling/Performance wise I prefer it, but is it worth the extra $$?

No, it's probably not worth it. But due to two factors.

1) "Only 1,000 of these special Mustangs will be built,"
and
2) The American people are gluttons for status and impracticality.

They will ALL sell!

they need to take the first camaro concept nose and graft it on the second body and it will be bad ass, untill then i HATE IT, and someone needs to show me a omni charger, cause i know of the omni. the "Pintang" may have tainted the mustang, but at least it kept it alive, the camaro was stoped, the charger was stoped, the gto and challenger were stoped, but the mustang has kept on trucking. And i agree todays cars are the best muscle cars, but i would still much rather have an original, or an original with a new drive train, like the 65 fast back with a 03 cobra chassis and interior!

i feel that chevy's over the top aggressivness is going to atract a lot of buyers.  look at the 350z, its agressive, respectable performance wise, and HERITAGE.  the camaro has HUGE heritage.  the camaro took center stage with the 350 small block so its not only heritage, midlife crisis, and the 350 heritage. its not ganna flop.  its ganna give ford such a run for its money that i think the mustang is ganna start gettin better and better along with chevy. even the after market will be vast body wise.  hell i bet those puppiesanese drifters comin in through cali would drifter-i'se it in a heartbeat so throw in body kits of different styles in the stewing pot,  god forbid if a Bosozoku member gets one.  (google that) on top of chevy's response to return of the best ford block ever, the original 302, chevy is owning ford.

regie jackson commissioned Warren “The Professor” Johnso  and GM performance parts already built the best 454 possible.  its cast iron, but its a small block based on the LS7 ZO6 (rumored z07) corvette.  well here this explains it best http://www.gmperformanceparts.com/Racing/reggie_jackson.jsp

trash talk the headlights all you want, it's comin.  (im bread chevy driving a ford.  it taught me respect)
