Man, that is the most awesome looking, most powerful, and most desireable Mustang that I will never, ever be able to afford even when it is 15 years old.

Cool ride. :D

So would I. :)

That's a pretty silly comment to make, seeing how the base Camaro hasn't even hit the streets yet. Historically speaking, the odds are against the KR.

That aside, I hope they both go like stink, and that the sale of Chrysler doesn't axe the Challenger. This is easilly the best looking of the new Mustangs. I'm just wondering if KR will mean anything this time around, or if they're just pulling another marketing ploy.

I still really like the Shelby GT.  I'm not sure it's worth the price bump over a regular GT though.  I'm also not sure this is worth the price bump over a GT500, but I like it.

Strange as this may seem, we (as Ford fans) need the Camaro and Challenger.

Competition improves the breed.

Competition is fun.

The more hot rods that are built now, the more 10-15 year old "used-up" cars we will get to play with in the future.;)

sale of Chrysler

What you talking about???

And whoever said Shelby GT higher then a GT500, you're off. Mustang hierarchy is:

Shelby GT500KR - 540HP 5.4 DOHC 4V Blown
Shelby GT500 - 500HP 5.4 DOHC Blown
Shelby GT - 325HP 4.6 SOHC 3V
GT-CS - 300HP 4.6 SOHC 3V
GT - 300HP 4.6 SOHC 3V
V6 - 225HP 4.0 ???

The "aftermarket" guys are all OVER the place. My personal favorite is the "handbuilt" Saleen Parnelli Jones Boss 302. $50,000 for 400HP, 390FtLbs. 06 GTO, 400HP, 400FtLbs for $28,000. ;)

I assume you mean me since I didn't see anyone else mention the Shelby GT.  I'm fully aware of the Mustang hierchy and if you carefully read what I said you will see that I mention that I am not sure the Shelby GT is worth the premium (~$7000ish if I recall) over a regular Mustang GT.  I also said I'm not sure the GT500KR will be worth the extra money over a "regular" GT500.  Styling/Performance wise I prefer it, but is it worth the extra $$?

Mustangs will be built, and they will definitely be the fastest ones yet! The team at SVT is tweaking the 5.4L supercharged V-8 with new calibrations

I thought that the SVT team was dissolved.
Beautiful car tho.

Yes, the Challenger looks like a "real" Challenger. I like it.

The Camaro I feel is a bit too aggressive.  Kind-of reminds me of GM's approach on the "Cat-Eye" headlights of the 03-06 Chevy Pickups.  Goofy, and a passing fad.  (much like directional wheels...remember that goofy fad?)

The Camaro has too many sharp edges about it's styling. I would find it hard to believe GM could build a base V-8 Camaro for less than $ 29.995.00. We will see.

Wake up and smell the stale auto news. Mercedes has had Chrysler on the table for nearly a month now. It was almost a Chinese owned automaker, and it may just end up Canadian. GM made an offer, and half the world wanted the brand all of a sudden.

(and in case you missed the similar news about Ford, FoMoCo bought Rover, of all things; not Land Rover, just Rover; but sold Aston Martin)

Not impressed.

I'm with Aerobird, give me a PJ Saleen.

And Daboss, I agree. Chevy flooped the styling of the Camero but that Challenger looks pretty sharp!

I knew about the Ford/Rover/Aston Martin deal. I had not heard about ma Daimler dumping the "company of equals" Chrysler though...

SSX,
Sorry, sounded like what you originally said was the Shelby GT had a premium over the GT and over the GT500. I didn't "read in" the KR being the premo over the 500. If you think that's confusing, try the aftermarket ones!

I *STILL* don't get all the Camaro/Challenger/whatever talk. None of those are built yet, so they DON'T exist!! Let's talk about the musclecars that ARE here! Super Bee SRT8 Charger, Charger Daytona, GT500, GTO (3,000 06's left in inventory), GT-CS, etc, etc.

im just saying the idea that the camaro is gonna look like the models they have i hope it flops, the challenger looks dead shagy, and you consider that god awful ugly charger a muscle car? Its a disgrace to the charger name! i will say they are ok quick, and some sound pretty good, other then that id rather have say a srt8 300c, that is a slick looking 4 door
