I broke the valve under my brake master cylinder - 88 Turbo Coupe

There's some sort of valve under my brake master cylinder assembly in my 88 Thunderbird Turbo Coupe.  It has a couple lines that come in from above an 2 lines that come out from the bottom.  When trying to remove one of the bottom lines, I broke the electric sensor off of it so now I have to replace it, but I don't know the best way to get it out.
What is the thing under my Turbo Coupe master cylinder assemby called?
What does it do?
What does the sensor attached to it do?
What's holding it in place?  I cant find a bolt on it anywhere.  Waht's the best way to get it out?

porportioning block? there should be a steel bracket holding it.  dig alittle deeper.

I'm pretty sure the sensor is for low brake fluid/pressure.

I think it's a pressure differential switch - it makes the light come on if one of the brake systems (front/rear) loses pressure. That's what it is in a non-TC anyway - not so sure about the ABS-equipped TC.

It's your proportioning valve

The sensor is a pressure switch and monitors brake pressure when the pedal is applied. If it senses unequal pressure when the pedal is applied, the switch closes and trips your brake warning light.

Thanks everybody.  Being a fluid pressure sensor I guess I'm gonna have to replace it or try to find a way to fix it so I don't have fluid pouring out the side.
The bigger problem is advance, autozone, ect. don't have it and all salvage yards nearby have sped everything before 93 so getting a hold of one could become a problem if I can't repair this one.
