cosworth Reply #9 – February 02, 2007, 05:15:22 PM did some research on it,, turns out the original design team sort of voted on an issue with the timing. One engineer was greatly against retarding it but since he was shot down, this resulted in some negative issues with the exhaust valves burining up.,,,the one i see here at home is black with the gold trim package and the cosworth dashboard nameplate with a production number off to the side. Honestly,, it reminds me of a kia sportage motor. Looks forgien to me for sure.hp/comp ratio started at 185/12.5:1later on reduced to 114/ 8.5:1I later found by clicking on the various links in the article, the stock HP was 210 and an engineering company for the nascar division had a supercharged version "kit" that would increase the power by and additional 60%,,WOWsux but they are rare.
