Sold the bird...finally have pics pg 2

Well i got some bad news...I have sold the t-bird to a fellow who works for me because I came across a car i have always wanted and could not get my hands on untill recently. I picked up a fully loaded Garnet Red 92 Mark VII LSC Special Edition, it has 117,000 kms or 70,000 miles, always garage kept and in mint condition. The car was a great deal and i could not resist. I will post some pics later tonight once i get off work. I can rest easy as the fellow who bought the t-bird is very responsible and will take care of the car...or at least he better:beatyoass: I have passed on the site to the new owner so a new member should be on board anytime.

Nice. A Mark VII is one of few cars I'd trade my T-Bird for (a nice 87-88 Cougar or four eye Bird being the other choices).

That's not bad news, it's just news. Mark VIIs are good looking cars. I tried to find one for a parts car before I got the last TC. And, if I wasn't going to keep the '86 for the rest of my life, I would either look for one of those or a '98 or newer Crown Vic. Good job and let's see some pics.

Seems to me that 87/88 Tbirds are the least wanted of the cars mainly discussed on this forum.  Everyone is getting rid of them and/or wants a Cougar, 4 eye bird, or a Mark VII.  Oh well, I'm keeping my Tbird no matter what.  Hope you enjoy your new ride :) .

lol yeah man you keep that white bird! i think it looks great. i like the 87/88s best. cougar OR tbird. i like the four-eyeds but the 87/88s are bigger. and for me, bigger is always better. ive never liked the early 80s era because all cars were downsized. by the late 80s it was okay to build big again. and thats my kind of car. what ID like is a four eye front end on my cat.

hey, all the more 87/88s for us!!!!
1987 20th Anniversary Cougar, 302 "5.0" GT-40 heads (F3ZE '93 Cobra) and TMoss Ported H.O. intake, H.O. camshaft
2.5" Duals, no cats, Flowmaster 40s, Richmond 3.73s w/ Trac-Lok, maxed out Baumann shift kit, 3000 RPM Dirty Dog non-lock TC
Aside from the Mustang crinkle headers, still looks like it's only 150 HP...

I have owned other Marks before but this ones the keeper, I have not had a chance to get pics up as I have been out of town for a bit but very soon! If it was any other year other than a 92 I would still have the bird in my garage...they only made just over 5000 Marks in 92 and the Special edition models i would guess under 500 produced. As far a making it faster...I'm leaving it alone, with the HO and 3.27 its good enough. I have bought a 77 comet that is getting a 91 5.0 HO w/ 5 speed,FI,computer etc etc. I think that little bugger will haul ass!

My dad had a '71 Comet GT, the first year for the small ones. Wish he still had it.
Sounds like a nice Mark. Check out thelincolnmarkviiclub.org yet?

Yeah, the 87/88 body styles are my favorite as well.  I'm particularly fond of those awesome Tbird tailights; remind me of the old shelby 'stangs.  I do really like the front ends of the 4 eyes though, about as much as I like the 87/88s, but I definitely prefer the rear of the 87/88s.  And I like these cars for the same reasons my dad bought my car for.  Rear wheel drive, V8, luxury-ish, etc.  My Tbird was meant as a replacement after we got rid of my mom's 94 Lincoln Mark VIII and dad had a hard time finding a car with those characteristics for a good price.

And yeah, if I had the money, I'd definitely get an 87/88 TC (5 speed, of course) in moderate condition and use it as more of a daily driver while my white 5.0 gets some work done to it :) .

Anyways yeah, with an HO and 3.27s, you're good to go.  Thats the exact setup my Tbird will have soon :) .  Tell me how it runs!

yeah man the rear ends are the best. i particularly like the fairly-visible vertical bars in the cougar taillights. another throwback!!! but this is to the early-mid seventies cougars, they had the same thing on the tail lights. i really like muscle-era cars, and want one so bad that the throwbacks this car has to that era make me feel like im driving a muscle car.:D
