Pics of my rides Reply #15 – January 25, 2007, 10:22:18 AM I have already gone thru the dream phase about a twin turbo bird. My 460 Turbo Coupe was going to get that originally. I bought 2 TC water cooled turbos and some BBK headers. But that is as far as I went. Someday, maybe. But the only class it would be legal in is brackets and wild street. So, I am going with a single turbo in the rear sending 8 lbs of boost to the 460. Then the car will legal for Mild Street at my local track. Rules say 1 turbo. It does not say where the turbo has to be. A 400 horse (naturally asperated) 460 with 8 lbs of boost will make 600 horse. That is about as far as I can go on 93 octane with a little octane booster. That is my goal. What do you think? Quote Selected
Pics of my rides Reply #16 – January 25, 2007, 01:30:40 PM 8 Pounds of boost should be ok but I would run more if your compression ratio is not to high. I run 13 psi all day long on my 5.0 all day long. I know I am very close to the 500hp level which is why I dont have more boost but my compression is 8.5:1. I want to keep the block in one piece as long as possible. But you need to have the timing dialed in perfect as well as the fuel thats the main reason to go fuel injected for me anyways. Pics of my rides Reply #17 – January 25, 2007, 07:42:49 PM I figured I will have to buy an ignition retard system. I am going to use a factory block and crank and 600 horse is as far as I want to push this combo.(I'll use a main cap girdle) Quote Selected

Pics of my rides Reply #19 – January 26, 2007, 05:57:46 PM I love that truck. It feels great driving it with the firm suspension and fat tires. Big difference from my 84 F-350 crew cab! Bad part is ,the Lightning weighs about 4,500 lbs. Best I ran was 9.88 at 71 mph stock which is what those trucks ran new. I ran that 9.88 3 hours after I bought it. I knew the engine was in good shape when I saw that 9.88. Quote Selected
Pics of my rides Reply #20 – February 13, 2007, 03:46:25 PM My TC got new shoes. M&H Racemaster 275-55-16 D.O.T. Drag radials on stock TC wheels with 5/16 inch spacers. Rear is setting at the finished ride height with the modified Southside lowers.-- Quote Selected
Pics of my rides Reply #21 – February 13, 2007, 04:26:14 PM That car is badass. This is the reason I love these cars soooo much! They look like a normal car... weak and slow to people who dont know what youre running. I had some kid in my school parkinglot down-grade my car, he drove a BMW of sorts, I popped the hood and he shut his mouth.Keep it up man! looks great! Quote Selected
Pics of my rides Reply #22 – February 13, 2007, 04:33:20 PM Yea,the 83-88 T-Bird lines look so bitchin' with their nascar inspired aero style. My wife and I are still the only ones running this body style on a regular basis at our track. Makes owning them even better. Quote Selected

Pics of my rides Reply #24 – February 19, 2007, 06:21:21 AM Here's a pic of a 1989 Lincoln Mark VII Bill Blass (with the "softie" suspension. Bought it 3 years ago. Gave it to my then 15 yr old daughter 2.5 years ago. Been sitting in the back yard ever since. This car really needs to be driven. 5.0L H.O. Mustang engine from the factory. Gets 26 mpg hywy with a/c and cruise on.Weighed in at 3675 lbs without driver and 1/4 tank of fuel.It is not the LSC with the firmer suspension, but I have all the Turbo Coupe parts to convert it to coil spring suspension and fix that.Wish it was still mine. Made a world of difference in looks!I love driving this car. It is a huge improvement over the 3 Fox Stangs I have owned! But I like my T-Birds better.:D Quote Selected
Pics of my rides Reply #26 – February 19, 2007, 08:14:23 AM Nice cars!! My dad wants a black on black markvii with a 5.0 five speed. Seen one in NJ but not sure if 5spd would be factory or not? Quote Selected
Pics of my rides Reply #28 – February 19, 2007, 06:52:42 PM Why doesn't your daughter drive the Lincoln? Quote Selected
Pics of my rides Reply #29 – February 19, 2007, 08:11:10 PM She doesn't have her license yet. Strange, but I want her to get it so I can drive that Lincoln again! I have a set of 96 Mustang 17 inch wheels and tires for that car and the only problem I have with putting them on is that the front Mustang centercaps won't work with the MK VII rotors. They stick out too far and The Mustang caps will not fit. ( Unless I cut a hole in the center) Quote Selected
