91-93 5.0HO to 85 LS

Woundering about problems might face in dropping a 91-93 HO into the 85' Engine bay? Sound good or complicated?

It's not bad, I just did it to my '88 thunderbird.

just gotta change the front end of your motor, and swap on a carbed 4bbl intake, distributor, and carb and your set.

FI started wayyyyyyyyy before then.  the first CFI was in 83,
first fuel injection system was in 1927.  It resides in your fuel tank.

im like chuck, wonder why he would have to go  carb'd

Well I know some Canadian 3.8's were carbed later I think, but the 3.8's in the US were CFI '83+ IIRC.

3.8's in Canada were carbed through '86, though CFI was optional. I have only once ever seen an CFI V6 in one, years ago in an '86 at a dealership. I passed on it because it had a dead hole (prolly head gasket).

As for the MN12 HO in a Fox, MyWife'sKitty did it and used the MN12 brackets/accessories and intake. Look for the thread titled "Mywife'sHO" in the lounge.

my '86 3.8L is CFI and my '85 WAS a 3.8L Carbed set up.  I prefer the look of a carbed set up under the hood of the four eyed cars over the EFI set up.  Plus it is cheaper and easier to set up/tune.

Well since I have no idea where he lives...I'm only assuming is a US car and thus EFI already.  (Another gripe...fill out your locations people....)
You are in Canada, and they played by a different set of rules when it came to carb/EFI.

To me taking an EFI car to carb is backwards....esp for street use.

except when it comes to CFI.  To me it is Garbage.  (in my experiences with them, they NEVER run right, and way worse Fuel mileage then either carbed or SEFI)
Now I agree, if it is SEFI keep it that way, but if it is CFI, go either way.

Well that's my point.  He has an EFI set-up from a 90-91 Tbird, and if his car is a US car, it should have the EFI fuel system in place.
All he really needs then is a harness and ECU from a Fox car.

I know that fuel injection has been around for a long time. I was only refering to FI in fox's.
I guess I meant SEFI, forgot about that CFI stuff. If it was my car and didn't already have SEFI I would just go get a good intake and a 4bbl.

Well regardless, CFI, EFI, SEFI.....his car is already equipped with the fuel system and the ECU power, etc... Not too far to go to keep it with EFI of some sort.
