Rear quads Shocs!!!.

Hello,

I checked on all of My Ford tbirds/coucars manuals, and never found a quad rear shocks suspension pics, or info...

I have a 1985 base bird and I want to converse into a quad shocks rear suspension, BUT I don't have any info where the two others shocks are placed...

If one of You have a pics or illustrations of it, and the kind of struts used, this will be very appreciated...

I'll need pics and measures to do My own brackets (if needed), I need this as short as possible cauz I'll install My PRC suspension this week...

You don't need the quads with PRC. To install them you need an axle with the brackets (they're welded on) and also the small brackets that hold the shocks to the body.  I don't have a pic of my axle, but here is a pic taken from a 1983 Car and Driver magazine road test - this is an '83 Turbo coupe (note the 9" brakes). The bracket that's welded to teh axle can be seen above the drum:

Hello Thunderchicken!!!

Well, I just have to made two brackets for the axle and two will bolt on the frame, but these 2 chocks seems to be more than a damper instead a real shock absorbtion ?...

I don't know if these two shocks make a big difference?...

I'll wait for that, I'll install My PRC struts and the stabilizer bar before...

They are supposed to prevent rear axle "wind up" on hard acceleration, which causes wheel-hop. They don't actually affect the ride quality of the car. I'm still undecided as to whether I'll bother installing them into mine when I do the aforementioned axle swap...

Okay okay, these shocks work like a traction bars (same idea), I have a stock 3.8 carbed in My car, I guess with this engine the housing will never roll under My car :grinno:

I'll leave this idea, But I'll do if I decide to put a 351C or whatever in My 4 eyed Bird, But I like My V6, it's economical and runs good...
