Well, as much as I might think the car's good for me driving to work, a sudden experience where I *had* to have the wife, Prince_V (all of 5 months old), and the in-laws in the car along with a bunch of luggage made me realize something....  the T-bird doesn't make for a very practical family vehicle.

Anyway, I haven't found anything to replace it yet, haven't even quite started looking.  But, I was hoping to get a rough idea of what the car would go for if I were to sell it.

I'm in Sicklerville, NJ 08081

The Good:
- It's a 2-owner vehicle, includes window sticker and a number of maintenance receipts (almost all from the previous owner).
- Includes a set of OEM mustang headers (not installed).
- Passed NJ inspection - sticker good to Sept 2008.
- Rear tires are in excellent condition.
- New radiator.
- New ignition switch.
- New front brakes.
- Alpine stereo system, 6 speakers, and multi-disc changer in trunk.
- Just about EVERY power option that was offered.
- All the better goodies available with the Sport package (full gauge complement, stiffer suspension, 8.8 Track-lock rear, etc etc).

The Bad:
- It's up to about 109K miles
- Paint's faded, though it *seems* like it should polish/buff out (car is black)
- Single crack in the dash.
- Bumpers are faded to nearly white.
- Needs exhaust work (really just the ler inlets, but who'd want to keep the stock 2-into-1-into-2 system?).
- Still has 14-inch rims.
- Front tires probably will need to be changed.
- Part of Thunderbird emblem on trunk is missing.
- Taillight lenses have some small but deep-ish scratches.
- Three VERY small areas of surface rust (considered near-miraculous by New Jersey standards).


I'm sure there's probably one or two things for the good and the bad lists that I'm missing.

Anyway, is there any interest?  Also, if I did ultimately sell it, what could I reasonably expect to get for it?

(pics would probably help, wouldn't they?)

EDIT:  Ho'kay, got off my lazy butt and added pictures.  If I would be even less lazy, I'd've washed it first, but I didn't, so here it is, warts and all.

Also, I'd really like some advice on what a fair price is for it.  Obviously I don't want to just give it away, as I'm not in a position where I can afford to do that, but I don't want to be like these people who're under the delusion that it's "just like a Mustang" and charge Mustang prices, either.

Problem_area.jpg is the one showing the absolute WORST spot of rust... it's not much.

Side view is fairly self-explanatory.  I can understand the hood looking hazy quicker than the doors, but I don't get it with the fenders.

And rear, basically to show what I mean about the paint going from the bumpers.

The fenders are faded because they are factory paint.

The rest of the car has been painted at some point, you can tell by the sanding scratches in the paint in the picture of your quarter window.

I'd start around $2K if it's pretty clean.  There are a lot of cars available in this kind of condition and that's about the going rate.  Good luck with your sale (hope prince and queen are happy and healthy :)).

Hmm . . really?  Odd, because I figured the previous owner would've mentioned that in terms of trying to get more money from me.  Maybe I should dig through his receipts again.

Anyhoo, the fenders seem to match the roof and hood of the car in terms of fading, so I guess those weren't repainted either, though the trunk lid is just as clean as the doors, etc.  A repaint would make sense for that particular oddity.

I have a car VERY similar to yours. I will be selling mine soon as well.
Mine has leather though, and the power moonroof.
But I can't believe how similar they are. My exhaust has the same problem, and my paint is faded as well, except not nearly to the same degree as yours.

No offense, but it's probably not worth more than $1,000...i've seen loaded T/C's go for $2k around here...in better shape too.  Either way, good luck with the sale.

Has the car been hit in the 1/4 panel????
I can see evidence of quite alot of bondo there and the dent.

No offense taken.  I honestly had no idea what to ask for the car, thus my original post seeking a realistic asking price.  Since I'd gotten only one response (at that time, anyway), I went with it.

If it has been, it was when the first owner had it, but I'm personally unaware of it.  However, I'll be the first to admit that I suck when it comes to anything related to bodywork.  Are you referring to the driver's or passenger's side?  Point me in the right place to look, and I'll go over that spot more closely and see what I can find.  If my eyes and some judicious tapping on the appropriate area with my knuckles doesn't reveal anything, a magnet should, right?

I do have to sell the car, but I'd like to be able to present it as honestly as possible.
